Riley POV
"Good morning, beautiful!" Jax's sleepy voice with a deep roughness hit my ears and I wanted to moan. I swear he got more sexier every day that passed.
"Good morning!" I said as I looked out the kitchen window.
"I don't like waking without you by my side." His arms wrapped around my waist and I felt his bare chest against my silk pajamas.
"Sorry. I had a bad dream and came to get some tea to help settle my nerves."
"Wake me next time. I don't want to be asleep while you're in pain."
I smiled as I sank deeper into his arms. How did I find this incredible man?
"I'm not in pain, just confused. Today feels off."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. I dreamt of my magic being ripped from me again, but this time my mother warned me. It was always the same dream, but last night as the white light burned my insides I saw my mother's face clearly in the light."
"You never told me about this. How long have you been having this dream?"
"Since the first night I arrived here. I'm sure I mentioned..." I paused deep in thought. Something wasn't right. "Star said my magic isn't letting me learn. You said there is magic around packs to make humans not look further into the oddities. I think my mind isn't letting me learn of my past."
"You have been oddly calmed about all this. I would expect a human to have a heart attack learning all you have." His hand rubbed my swollen belly. "I foolishly thought it was me that calmed you, but you're right. Something is making you not fully realize all that is happening."
"You do calm me. You're my soul mate and that can't be stripped from me."
He smiled wide showing me his pearly white teeth. "I love you." He kissed my nose.
"I love you too."
"What warning did your mom give you in your dream?"
"Run! That it's, she looked me dead in the eye and said run to your father." I shivered remembering how clear her voice was in my head. Usually it felt like I was watching what was happening to me in my dreams, but this time I felt as if I was actually there.
Heavy footsteps walked in the room behind us and I knew instantly it was Liam. My body turned to him, wanting his comfort, but then I remembered he was an asshole. Liam and Jax were complete opposites of the other.
"This is annoying to walk in on every morning." He grunted and started the coffee machine.
"Liam?" My voice came out small. His eyes shot up to my face and walked right to me. His hand cupped my cheek as Jax still held my waist.
"What happened?" He questioned with only worry in his tone.
"I don't know." I said with tears. A rush of emotions took over and I just knew we weren't going to be together. This wasn't going to work between us.
Jax's hands smoothed over my arms to calm me. "She's been having dreams about the day her magic was taken from her. Last night her mom appeared to her and told her to run to her father."
"Your father was police chief. No offense, but he can't help with our situation."
"My mom had to of been supernatural. Maybe he knows of my past. If my dream is actually a memory than he was something other than human too."
"I think you need to tell us about this dream. Every piece you can remember. Maybe there is a clue to help us figure out what you were born as." Jax guided me to the table.
