Liam POV
I spent the last two years obsessing over finding a way to wake Jax that I forgot to give my mate proper attention. Riley was so understanding of the pain we both felt that she never pressured me to be better either. She held it inside and now she was a damn time bomb. A sexy as hell bomb I couldn't wait to watch explode.
The second I pushed her into the bathroom I knew she was in heat. She took a suppressant, but that was made for werewolves. It was only a matter of time before it stopped working, and now that it's been so long, it would take days to calm her.
That dark wine and cherry blossom scent had every fiber of my being in tune to her needs. She needed to be satisfied, but revenge was deep inside her too. Whoever this old boss was, he hurt her in a way she wanted him to pay. I let her handle him by herself, knowing a human was nothing to my Queen. I didn't expect her to actually kill him though. My little demon girl had some true evil inside her.
"Strip!" I demanded the second we walked inside our bedroom.
"Excuse me!" Riley folded her arms over her chest with a scowl.
We were quite most the ride home. She needed to calm her Lycan and had a small panic attack she almost killed someone. I'm sure this Darrel guy deserved it, but my girl would be filled with guilt if I let her take another life. Riley hasn't forgiven herself for all the wolves we killed from the War to Freedom, or so that is what Brandon calls it.
"Strip! Now! Make me repeat myself then when I have your sexy body bent over, pouring out, and begging me to make you come, I will give you the twenty spanks you deserve instead."
Her mouth dropped open at me. "I'm not some toy or a good little whore of yours. God, Liam! You're ice cold to my touch for months, practically two years, and now you just tell me to strip. I don't think so!" She stomped away in her sexy black heels to the bathroom and slammed the door.
I heard the shower turn on and growled sensing her building anger. She was about to explode. Her heat will slam into her and she will be on her knees begging me. The only reason she wasn't crying for me was because her stupid human side was pushing down her wolf again. Once she feels her wolf, she will feel her heat, and I can't wait.
"Liam!" Riley's scream rattled the walls around us. I kicked the door down and ripped the shower door right off the hinges.
"What's wrong?"
"It hurts. It... oh god, it feels too much." She held her stomach under the warm water.
I turned the shower to cold. "You have to stop holding back, gorgeous. You're a werewolf, a Lycan. You can't hid that from yourself anymore."
"I don't want to be a monster." Her body crumbled to the floor as she cried.
"How can something so magnificent thinks she is a monster?" I sat beside her, still fully clothed. I pulled her smooth naked body into my arms and kissed her head. "You're not a monster. We are dark creatures, both with power to do good and evil."
"I wanted to kill him today. I wanted to kill every wolf that was loyal to Demetrius too. If Jax wasn't cursed at my feet, I wouldn't of let any of them live. Every Lycan and werewolf at that lowlife perverts pack house would had been massacred by me."
"Shh, baby. You didn't kill anyone that wasn't there to kill you. I know it's not the world you were raised in, but human laws give rights to self defense, don't they?"
"I wanted to do more, kill more." Riley's body stopped shaking in uncontrollable sobs against me. Her voice was soft and tears started to dry up. I never knew she was in so much pain. I knew I failed Jax, but I didn't realize how badly I failed her too.
