Riley POV

"Hi daddy!" My voice was high pitched, trying to hide my nerves.

"Ri baby, it's so good to hear your voice."

Liam and Jax both raised their eyebrows at me like they could hear my dad. I stepped away from them, turning my back. Right now they didn't matter.

"It's good to hear your voice too."

"You sound different. Is everything ok? I told you not to worry."

"Everything is fine dad. I'm just a little nervous, but it's nothing."

"Are you sure? I told you this will be a simple procedure and nothing will happen to me. You know I'll be fine, right?"

"Yes, of course. Stop worrying about me. Tell me how they are treating you there? Did Mildred get you chocolate cupcakes last night? She promised me she would." I knew he was lying about the simple procedure, but now was not the time to argue.

"Yes, she did. It would had been better to share with you though."

"My friend Brandon brought me one last night. I told him all about you and how we always had one when one of us were down. He can't wait to meet you."

"I like this Brandon character already. How are things with his boyfriend... Henry, I believe his name was."

I giggled a little, loving how my father always wanted to know about everything in my life. "Harold and they are ok. Still a little rough patch, but we see how it plays out."

"Well, if he dumps that bum and decides to go straight again, I think you two would have a good chance together. I like how he cares for you."

I rolled my eyes then stiffened at Liam's growl next to me. Could he hear my father?

"What was that?" My father's voice was all panic.

"Nothing daddy. What's wrong?"

"I heard a growl. Is someone or something by you?" His worry only grew more. Could he actually hear Liam's low growl? I barley heard it.

"Oh, that was just a grunt from my overbearing boss. He gets annoyed when employees are on the phone. Don't worry, I'll set him straight after we talk." I shot Liam a cross look. This was my last chance to speak to my father and he wasn't going to ruin it.

"That's right. No one takes advantage or walks all over my kid."

"Never!" I smiled in response.

If only he knew how much these two took advantage of me. I didn't miss the smirk from either of the two barbarians standing next to me either.

"It is time. Say goodbye to that retched girl." Mildred voice was in the background and made me cringe. I hated that she got to be there with him, but I wasn't allowed.

"Quiet hag!" My dad ordered, but ended up in a fit of coughs.

"Daddy!" I raised my voice in worry.

"He has to go. I'll text you later." Mildred must of grabbed the phone then hung up. All I could hear was his fit of coughs while he struggled to breath.

"No!" I shouted, slamming my phone to the ground. "That stupid bitch." I screamed, balling my fist at my side.

Heat was rising in my veins. All I could see was her death by hands. Over and over again I imagined different ways to kill that vile woman that took away my father.

"Riley, calm down." Jax moved to wrap his arms around me, but I pushed him away.

"She will die." I spat out.
