Riley POV

We drove in silence, unable to find any words for what we were feeling. Liam held Jax in his lap, watching him sleep peacefully for god knows how long. He was cursed, and he defied that cursed by saving me. My father laid dead in the car behind me because he also helped to save me.

My eyes caught Liam's every so often and I only found pain between us. He was all I had left and I didn't want to lose anyone else. I needed to protect myself so others stopped dying trying to save me.

"I'll put him in our room for now." Liam said, walking inside our pack house and straight up the stairs.

"Hey! I'm proud of you." Brandon knocked my shoulders playfully and a tear fell out of my eye. All I could seemed to do was cry.

"Thanks."

"It's ok, Riley. Whatever you need I'm here."

I grabbed his hand with a tight squeeze. "I know and I'm so thankful I have you Brandon."

We looked at each other for a long moment. Brandon had everyone stay away from the pack house until we were settled. I know the pack planned a grand celebration that would last long into the night, but I couldn't be apart of it right now. I felt completely numb inside.

"No one will bother you. The pack knows to come to my house with any issues and that you need time to mourn. Take all the time you need Riley. Your pack will be here waiting for you."

I gave him a small smile. It sounded weird that I had my own pack now. I didn't even want to be a werewolf, or have any part of this world. I didn't want any part of any world.

The second Jax's body hit the floor everything turned off inside me. My Lycan was fighting for control, shoving me deep into my subconscious, then she just faded away.

I know my wolf felt liked she failed her mate, both her mates. She hasn't once stirred inside me and I had a feeling she wouldn't anytime soon.

"I'm going to rest a bit. Do you know how far my daughter is from home?"

"Two hours. She will be home soon and no one will dare take her from you again."

"Alert me when she is twenty minutes out."

"Of course. Go, rest Riley."

I gave him another small smile and squeezed his hand again. Brandon was a good friend.

I walked into Liam's bedroom, following both of their scents. Liam laid beside Jax with one hand behind his head. He was trying to be strong for me, but I felt the same emptiness inside him that I felt.

"Hey, gorgeous. I assume Brandon has it all under control."

"He does." I removed my jacket and shoes.

"He should remain as Beta until we get this all figured out. I was thinking we could go to the Dark Horse coven tomorrow. They would know better than anyone how to wake Jax."

I changed into one of Jax's t-shirts and crawled between them. My body wrapped around Jax, and Liam wrapped around me. Both our hands laid on his chest.

"Our daughter will be here soon. Brandon is a good Beta, but he likes being lead Omega. Tomorrow we need to bury my father."

"I can't wait to meet her." He whispered.

"Me either. We should bring her here to met Jax too. She will know his scent even if he isn't awake."

"She will always know her father." Liam kissed my temple. "Rest, baby. You're exhausted."
