Whatever that alarm was, it was not good. Not at all. Even less when they heard it straight from Pipistrello’s mouth. “ Found him~ ”
“H… Him? You mean—” Swan wanted to ask yet they got their response before even finishing the sentence.
“The boy of course. And he’s in quite the pickle too, hah~”
“He’s what!? No, it can’t be— Where!? We have to hurry! Right now! Or else—”
“We’re close by, don’t you worry about a thing. But if we don’t act fast things might get ugly.”
“The hell are we doing here then!?” O asked, nearly growling.
“Well, even if you ran I couldn’t guarantee his safety.” The being responded, though unlike the two it sounded as calm as it ever would be. “He might be done for.”
They felt it, how they were at the brink of flipping out, shaking even. That… Was some joke, right? Even if they ran for their lives they wouldn’t make it!? But then… No, they couldn’t accept that. Not that easily at least. They didn’t want to. There had to be a way. They still had to try… Yeah, even if that was the last thing they would be doing. “Where is he?” They asked, about to get moving. “I’ll head there myself.”
“Didn’t you listen to a word!?” O asked rather loudly. “Even if you go he’s done for! So how—”
“Easy, I’ll be asking Pipistrello.”
“Oho? Me again? You’re really overworking me here dearie.” It responded, though sounding rather amused than exhausted. “I deserve a little vacation after today~”
“Sorry… But could you do one last thing? If it’s not too much…”
“Now, now. Remember what I said to you once? Use my power as you see fit. Whatever you desire, I shall desire it too. ”
Ah.. That’s right… That one time… It did say that to them. It literally slipped their mind… “Alright, then hear me out. O, retreat. It might be for the best.”
“You’ll go on this rescue mission on your own?” He asked, crossing his arms. “Can’t say I’ll like this.”
“It’d be risky to leave you here by yourself. So please…”
“Hah, I get it. This old man will take a nap.” He responded with a stretch, his arms up in the air and his tail standing up for a moment alongside his ears. Though it then all plopped down in a moment’s notice, him eyeing them once more. “But you better be careful, alright? Stay alive.”
“Will do. Don’t worry about me. Now then, as for the plan—”
Heh… Just what was he thinking? Goro had been outplayed before knowing it. His perfectly crafted plan, being shattered into pieces, just like that. In the end he couldn’t prevail.
He was just sitting there, waiting for his demise. He knew what was coming, that it was coming. Hah, something in his head made him think that it was a good idea to head to this Palace, into the boiler room and challenge the Phantom Thieves all on his own. All to prevent the worst. But not for Shido’s sake. That old man could rot in hell for all he cared. It was more about wanting to be the one to commit to the final blow. And the thieves were just in his way… Especially that guy…
