The time it took to adjust to this sudden shift was shorter than the first few times yet it had been rather sudden. At least for Lukanja it had been that way. A quick look down at their clothing suggested that they had changed into the attire which they had since awakening. Though they looked at themself a few times, even turning around a little just to make extra sure. Yet there was no doubt about it. Especially with the limited view they had thanks to the eyepatch.

Not just that but another person would catch their view, Akechi. Or rather ‘Crow’, what he had been called in the Metaverse. And the outfit… It just had to be the one with the long, red beak mask with that pointy end. That mask looked a little ridiculous. Actually, in hindsight one might say that the entire outfit of his looked a little too try hard to look like some ‘princely knight’. They were so close to claiming that it made them puke but it wasn’t that bad in the end. Just… Very unfitting for someone like him. Again, proof that he was just trying way too hard in this get up. But he had two apparently since this was not the first one they had seen him in. Was that outfit tied to his Persona thingy? They assumed so at the very least.

But they couldn’t dwell too much thought on his get up, not really at least. Not when they heard someone greet the two of them, an all too familiar voice and tone. None but the two had been visible, it was literally just the voice talking to them. “That didn’t take long. I’m impressed. You two are quite the team, aren’t you?” It was Pipistrello and it chuckled shortly after saying that.

Crow only let out a huff however. “It’s nothing like that.” He said. “We just didn’t want to waste any time. After all, the resignation overlaps with the forced investigation.”

“Oh? Is that really all boy?”

“Yes. Besides, this is only temporary. After the Phantom Thieves are history we’re going our separate ways.” He then shot a glance over at Swan, this one having been put on the spot. Going their separate ways after the Phantom Thieves had been dealt with… That was the deal, their very first. And he had a point… So they only nodded in agreement, even if there had been at least some hesitation.

“Aww, really? Even if you two just so happen to have some fun together? How disappointing.”

“This has nothing to do with our plans. It’s not as if we’re that personal anyways…” Are they really though? Or did he forget that the two had been hanging out several times? Including the Shujin School Festival for crying out loud! Did that mean no— No, they shouldn’t get ahead of themself. This was unrelated to their personal business. This was in relation to the Palaces and the Metaverse.

“Aww. A shame a shame. But you can still change your mind, can’t you?” Pipistrello asked, though it only received silence from both ends.Swan was not sure how to respond, Crow didn’t seem to be amused in the slightest. It only left Pipistrello to shrug and shake its head. “It’s not as if you two are alone anyways. But gramps will have to sit this one out since he’s busy with nap time.”

“Gramps?” Crow asked, a bit confused.

“Ah, it’s talking about Ole.” Swan responded. “He’s probably asleep. Then again, it’s not unexpected with his age. Best to let him rest and recharge from the times at Nijima–San’s Palace. He’s far from young after all. For a cat I mean.”

“Fair enough. Guess he’ll join us next time then?”

“Probably, yeah.”
