" Oh my, you two sure pulled a number on that dear officer. But it proved to be very effective, good job. Now hop hop, you got a job to finish. Don't worry, the old man has already been notified and is waiting for you at the entrance. Now chop chop, my popcorn for this season's finale is getting cold. "
And just moments later it was that the two were thrown into the Palace, right back into the ruins. Pipistrello sure didn't waste any of its time to get them back on track, whether they liked it or not. Then again. the sooner the better. That's what they could agree on. And besides, given that it had to be quick they were sure appreciating that they had just been dragged right into the Metaverse. Or at least Swan was. Crow had let out a groan yet in the end it saved them a little bit of the way, didn't it? Just a quick throw right into the Palace and dashing right into the ruins. Though they had to be quick about it too as the treasure would only last so long... And besides, it was all based on a theory. So if it was wrong they would have to look for it again and take educated guesses... So from here on out they had to hope.
Regardless, the duo prioritized making a run for it and defeating the jailor, so they could face the Shadow. With O it should be a piece of cake! Or so they hoped. Make it quick, three versus one! Should be... Well, not a breeze but easy enough! That was the plan at least but... Of course there would be a catch. There was always a catch to these things, one way or another. Something just has to go wrong all the time.
Upon arrival one could already hear loud sounds of screams, groans and 'mrows'. Then the sounds of slashing and clashing over and over. And when getting closer – There! A flying O! He seemed to have gotten thrown right up, about to land right on his back. However, in one quick moment he managed to catch himself and moved in a way so he did a quick backflip in the air, landing on his feet and hands like a cat on the ground, only to lift himself up and stand up straight. "Is that all you've got?" He scoffed mockingly.
"O!? What's going on!?" Swan's voice yelled over immediately as they hurried over, as quickly as they could.
Crow followed right after. "What are you doing!?" He asked, though almost at the brink if scolding of some kind.
O had heard them, making him turn his head a little to the side, enough to throw a sharp glare right at the duo. "Don't concern yourselves with me and keep running!" He responded, somewhat yelling at them even, as if it was a command. Yet before any answer could be given something or someone seemed to launch themselves right at O. He was about to jump up yet at the last second decided not to. Instead he parried whatever it was with his bare arms, blocking it by lifting them both up and in front of his face. He held it that way until the swords could be shoved away, the fitting meow coming from O on top of that. "I got 'em under control!"
"Them? Who do you–"
"Aww, look who else showed up." A voice, slightly deeper and distorted, suddenly spoke up.
And another followed. "So you also came to be crushed? How delightful."
A quick glance behind and above O– The two knights! As in the respective lookalikes! But of course it was them. Who else could it have been? Although they seemed to be a little different from before... Mainly because of the energy surrounding the two, what one may call 'auras'. They were glowing, a red tone with some black thrown into the mix. And their eyes each were glowing brightly in their respective colors. Not just that but the smirks on their faces were uncomfortable to look at, a little too wide perhaps. It felt unnatural, the craziness written all over their faces, at the brink of snapping. No, wait, they already snapped. Was it because of the inconvenience for them?
Though there was not much to think about in this instance. Because just moments later the duo of Crow and Swan saw yet another launch forward, trying to lunge at the two, swords at the ready without hesitation.
