A deal which had been easily agreed upon. There was no other choice for Lukanja anyways. Yet they were relieved that they had managed to make it through this and have Sato–San agree to these conditions. It could have gone south after all or taken ages. But no, the conversation went by pretty swiftly, much to their own surprise. There were only little issues and they managed to get out of the office rather quickly, hence why they had been heading outside shortly after.

“Looks like I’ll owe you something now.” Akechi brought relief on his face. It was the first in a long time where they had seen him smile in some way. Maybe getting all that off his chest wasn’t so bad after all.

“I told you, didn’t I? I’m not going against you.” They responded, unable to hold back their grin. And that’s what they did. “You need to face the consequences but at least I can make sure to minimize the damage. Besides, it’s not just you who has been involved in this.”

“You really don’t have to bother with it. I can handle myself just fine.”

“Too bad, I want to.”

“You’re still not someone who takes no for an answer, do you?”

“Heh, you just figured that out?”

“No. You’ve always been a little stubborn. Quite a pain in the neck too.”

“Oi! Watch it or I might write an unfavorable report to Sato–San!” Of course that was all in good fun, a bit of a joke. It was still all complicated but the tension between the two had lifted itself since that conversation. Things seemed back to normal, at least for now. And honestly it was a little fun for Lukanja to look at it that way. At this point they didn’t even worry if they were allowed to indulge in it. They had to keep a close eye on him anyways and they were going to do just that. “Although, you also have to keep a low profile overall, don’t you?”

Akechi nodded. “Yes. I can’t let Shido know where I am. I can’t go out much or I might be recognized.”

“So you’ll be stuck home most of the time?”

“For the time being. They can’t know where I am.”

“Looks like I’ll be making lots of home visits then~”

He looked at them, caught off guard for a moment. “You’re not serious, are you?”

“It’s part of my job now.” They countered, the smugness on their face being accompanied by their tone. “Can’t have you pack your bags all of a sudden and run off to who knows where?”

“Hah… No, I did this to myself. I can’t complain.”

“Oh indeed you can’t boy~” A voice would just chime in, from seemingly out of nowhere. Though by now they should be used to these interruptions, both of them.

“Oh, looks like Pipistrello decided to show up~” Lukanja noted, though sounding a little more cheerful than before.

Akechi on the other hand groaned with disapproval. “Do you have to show up now?”

“Oh? Was I interrupting an upcoming date?” It asked, earning an immediate response from him though. This one had become all red though they couldn’t say why. Maybe because he was a little furious? Y… Yeah, that’s probably why. He wasn’t flustered. That was unlikely.
