Easy to Lose

For what do I care for money?
When metal, it varnishes,
When paper, it rips and rots
it does not remain.

For what do I care for riches?
The eyes may be pleased,
The comfort may be achieved,
but both are easily fooled.

Nor riches
or money
are mine to pine for,

For I find,
it's not that they're too easy to gain,
but that they're too easy to lose.
