And then There Was Light

And then there was light.

There!

Over the horizon,

in the east!

A red-yellow orb,

the size of yonder

splendid moon,

that gazes across

sky-ocean,

bluer than earth-ocean.

The moon is full,

pale white

like

fresh marble from

a quarry,

but the sun,

with reddish glow

and

warm light

is what

shoos away the night.

Morning has struck,

and then there was light.
