Fog-shrouded

Watch me disappear away into the fog.

I never should have been here.

And when I'm free

Hellhounds couldn't drag me back.

My memory

will disperse

as a cloud of small birds

or pepper into the ground.

It will be gone

invisible

indistinct

and better that way.

You won't remember me

except to throw glass bottles

and curse at

in half-drunken tantrums.

You unreliable child

how could you be responsible

for my dreams coming true

when you were trying to crush them?
