Final Trial

Cut back on my time

make it short

bring me to court

and charge me

with my crime.

I know I'm guilty

I knew at the time

and now you ask

me to pay the ultimate price.

The world watches

my trial

they know theirs

is next

we all must be tired.

Every moment

most condemning

a few redeeming

are revealed

there are no secrets

forevermore.

The good I've done

does not equate the evil

the prosecutor

asks for no mercy.

I summon up

the last defense

who in any case

will always save me

I ask him

to forgive me

in the eyes of

his father

this man

sacrificed himself for me.

I call

Jesus

as my lawyer

and every crime

all my sins

are forgiven.

He is my

lawyer

and savior.
