Drop of Rain

To be inspired is to wait for a drop of rain,

on good days I'm in the rainforest,

on my worst I struggle in the desert.

But the greater reward,

is a drop of the most invigorating water

on a parched tongue,

rather than a drop on a well-hydrated one.

Oh, there are many raindrops,

ones of pure, sweet water,

and those that burn of acid,

whose taste you makes wish you'd never thought of it.

Every raindrop is important,

one will bring a character to life,

another enhances the plot.

When all the little raindrops

come together,

that is a story.
