A LITTLE EXTRA

Well as matter of fact, those Two beautiful eyes didn't belong to Toni but no other than....Amaka.

She was staring back at me with eyes that held shock accompanied with some thing that looked like... regret but i didn't want to read too much into it.

It could have been anything.

She was sitting on a chair which was very close to the hospital bed so it was impossible to even see who was on it. At that moment, i didn't really care about it because i was spell bound by her gaze and was a little bit overwhelmed by her presence, though i knew she would be here but i didn't really place in consideration what i would do or act when i finally see her.

I felt like i was glued to the spot. I knew i looked stupid with my mouth agape but i couldn't help it. We both stayed in that position looking like we were on a stare off with none of us making the first move for what seems like hours. The atmosphere was beginning to become intense until a farmiliar voice spoke from behind her.

"Amaka whose that?" The voice which i have been longing to hear asked.

Toni's voice.

Although it sounded raspy, I could identify that voice anywhere and then I met his eyes looking straight into my soul. They were still the same as i remembered, Grey with a glint of mischief lurking in it.

Just the sight of him opened a new fresh batch of emotions that i couldn't lock it in so I broke down in tears. I knew they were not bitter tears but tears of Joy and so i allowed them to flow not minding how they would make me look afterwards.

"Hey! Why are you crying?, oh come over here" Toni smiled, motioning for me to come closer and that's when i ran towards him and hugged him. Immediately, the outpour became intense that i sobbed even more in his arms as He patted my back.

"Dear...dear. You don't have to cry anymore ZoZo. I'm here now, that's all that matters right?" He said still patting my back gently.

"I'm just so happy you are alive. I thought i would never be able to see you again" I said in between tears, sniffling.

"Well that can never happen, How can i leave the earth without saying a proper good bye to my little sis" He smirked with amusement glittering in his eyes.

We had already pulled out of the hug.

"Hey! that's unfair, What about me?" Amy pouted with a sad face, She was standing at the corner of the room with her hands crossed. It was at that moment i noticed she has been in the room the whole time. She stood up so that we could have our alone time..How thoughtful of her.

I couldn't help but giggle at her reaction.

"Oh i forgot!, you too Amaka" Toni smirked which made her scowl the more.

He was really trying to get under her skin and it seems it was actually working.

And just the thought of that unleashed the laughter box inside of me which suddenly earned me a scowl from Amy that shut me up.

"I'm just kidding okay?. You both are my little sisters and nobody can replace that " He said which made Amaka beam widely.

"But wait Amaka I never considered you as one who gets jealous and overly possessive... especially over me" He stated with amusement written all over his face.

He was surely enjoying this.

"I was not Jealous, I was only_" Amy tried to counter back but was interrupted by the opening sound of the door.

In came a fair skinned chubby Man who looked like He was in his fortys. He was dressed in a white lab coat which clearly stated He was a doctor. He wasn't alone but was accompanied by Toni's Parents, My parents, Precious and her Dad. Toni's parents were holding white leather bags which i presume is the food they went to get for Toni.

Sooner enough they occupied the whole room.

"Hello Antony, How are you feeling?" The Fair man asked with a chirpy grin. He was standing by the side of Toni's bed.

"I'm Fine Doctor Mark. Just some few pains here and there but it's nothing i can't handle" Toni said calmly.

"That's good to hear. And please quit calling me Mark, call me Doc instead" The Doctor whose name i presume is Mark said again smiling which Toni responded by a nod.

The Man really do like smiling.

He continued speaking "Don't worry all those pains will go away very soon. It's a miracle you didn't ascertain any further damages in your body, honestly i thought we were going to lose you in there because at some point we couldn't be able to track your pulse if you were alive or not but then it's like you came back" He smiled and added "I have to say you are strong boy Antony"

"That's our son, Strong as ever" Mr Zion bragged ruffling Toni hair in the process which made us all laugh.

"It wasn't me Dad, It was God actually" Toni said glancing at me with a knowing smile which made me smile too. I felt there was a hidden message behind what He said like He knew what I knew but who am I to be correct?

"Well even If I am not a religious Person, I know for a fact that a miracle has happened" He said.

"So I will be taking my leave now because it looks like Antony is in perfect hands" He smirked pointing at the food pack which made us giggle. "Make sure to rest and if you need my assistance on any thing, you know my office"

"Thanks Doc" Toni smiled.

"You are welcome buddy, Bye guys"

"Bye Doc!" We all chorused as we watch him leave through the door.

"He sure is really one of kind, i will give him that" A voice commented behind me which i immediately knew belonged to......Precious.

You thought it was Amy well Nope!...besides we haven't even settled yet.

I couldn't help but give her a 'I know right' look then watch as Toni parents hand over a food pack to Toni.

"Well what are you all waiting for, let eat!" Mrs Zion said inviting us over to where the food packs were.

"I thought the food was only for Toni" Amy said voicing out all our thoughts.

"Well I decided to add a little extra to it. it won't bite, will it darling?" She smirked with a feeling of pride which earned a eye roll from Amy.

Not wasting too much time, We all digged in. Varieties of dishes and delicacies were available, so many wonderful dishes were before me that i couldn't even choose because all were my favourite so i decided to have a bit of everything.

Don't call me selfish because it was more than enough to go around.

As we ate, conversations were made, Jokes were cracked and humor filled the air, It was finally good to all be happy again. Turning to get my last round of the meal, I spotted Precious whispering something in Amaka's ear which made her laugh. I couldn't help but stare at how happy she was even without me. Slow and steady i began to sense a feeling of Jealousy finding habitation in my spirit.

I knew i shouldn't be Jealous of Amy and Precious being together because they were still best friends even when Amy cut ties with me but i could not stop it. The feeling somehow made me realize how greedy i was because I would always persuade Precious to be with me all the time that i forgot that I wasn't her only friend and now here i am angry at them for being together.

I feel ashamed of myself right now.

"You know if you stare too much, they are bound to notice right?" I heard a voice say which made me flinch a bit. I looked at the its direction only to find Toni's grey eye staring back at me.
"Toni! You startled me" I said a little bit irritated.

"Sorry Zozo but..." He glanced at the end where Amy and Precious sitted. I knew He needed some kind of explanation but i wasn't going to give in.

"Oh umm... Just forget about it okay. Remember you did not see anything" I warned him playfully.

"My lips are sealed Madam" Toni chuckled closing up his imaginery zip lip. I knew He wasn't satisfied with my answer but He will have to get used to it.

"Good" With that i went back to eating, not minding what was going on around me.
