Sitting on a chair, two tiny legs swing frenetically in an excitement feeling she couldn't contain.
-What time is it now? – The little girl asks for the fifth time making you let out a sigh.
-Roselyn, you have already asked me that five minutes ago. Keep calm. He is getting here. – You say and the little girl snorts laying her head on the counter.
-Daddy said he would arrive at 12am for the lunch, but it's already 12:07 and he is not here! – She says and you chuckle.
-I know, my angel. Maybe he is locked on the traffic. You have to be a good girl and wait for him patiently. And when he gets here, you're gonna forget about it and spend a lot of time with him, okay? – You say and she smiles, nodding her head.
Suddenly, you two hear the doorbell sound. The little girl gasps loudly and get down the chair to run to the door. Opening it in a slam, she sees a tall figure standing there in a green and brown uniform, usually destined to the militaries.
-Daddy! – She shouts and jumps on him with arms opened widely. The man drops his bag on the floor, together with a bouquet he had on his hands, to lift up the light girl in a tight hug.
-Hi, my princess. – He says closing his eyes and enjoying those cute arms around his neck. A smile grows on his face as he sniffs her hair. – Are you using mommy's perfume? – He asks putting her down.
-Yes! She let me use it today because I said I wanted to smell like a princess! – She says and he laughs.
-Oh, really? That's good. You surely smell like one, but even without it, you are still my princess. – He says and the little girl giggles.
-Come in, daddy! I want to show you my drawings! – The girl says pulling her dad by the jacket as he takes the bag on the floor again.
-Okay, okay, I'm going. Go first, princess. Let me greet your mom first and then I can see it, okay? – He says and the girl nods, running to her room right away.
He closes the door behind him and his eyes meet with the woman standing in the living room. It's been so long since you saw him and even though you were no longer together, you couldn't deny he still makes your heart beat faster.
-Hi, Taeyong. – You say with your hands in front of your body. These moments are always a little awkward for you. You don't know how to act near him after these years.
You and Taeyong met when you were very young and not so after you had fallen in love with each other. It was something uncontrollable. He was the man of your dreams, and you were sure you wanted to marry him and live a good life together. Half of that became true. You got married and even had a beautiful girl that you begged to call "Roselyn", since roses are something that always reminded you of Taeyong. He always loved to gift you with roses, and also because of the little mark on his face, that you always said that looks like the flower.
But even after you dream became true, the life wasn't easy. Taeyong's work requires him to always be accent at home. You knew about it, and you even talked about it. You promised him that you would make it work even so, but after so many time going to bed alone, eating alone, passing through hard times alone, it became impossible for you to keep carrying on. Specially after Roselyn was born, it was even harder for you to not get frustrated.
Taeyong used to come back home sometimes after 3 months and he knew how hard it was for you, but it was even more for him when he listened you say the words "I think we should get divorced." It was a shock for him. Not because he didn't know your motives, but feeling that personally hurt more than he could imagine. He loved you with all his heart and your little daughter was the prove of this love, but watching the look on your face and your swollen eyes were more than enough to see he had failed as a husband and as a dad.
