Your heart is still racing, even if it's been a few minutes. Your hands tremble as your eyes shut hard, remembering once again those images right in front of your eyes.
He had warned you not to come to a place like that. That you would see things you wouldn't like. Still, you wanted to support him at least once. It was the most important day of his career after all.
You had no doubts Jeno would rock it. He is the favorite to become the UFC champion. You know how hard he has been training all these years. How strong he is. That's why you wanted to be there when he took that golden belt.
However, earning that golden belt is not easy. The opponent was strong too. Strong enough to survive three rounds. The longest 5 minutes you had ever been through. There was blood everywhere. Blood which you didn't know if it was his or the opponent's. He looked tired, in pain, with no strength to keep on. And at each punch, your heart broke into pieces. The face you used to take care of, that you used to kiss, with so much tenderness to not hurt him, was being hurt in front of your eyes in a horror show.
"Y/n? Are you okay?" The voice only swayed by your head. Your head started to spin, and your vision became turvy. Your body was heavy, and your legs were weak. "She is pale like a ghost! Take her to the locker room and tell her to wait there."
Before you could protest, you were taken to the locker room, behind the stage. You had calmed down a bit by now, but you didn't know the result of the fight. After trying to get out of there, or even escape, Chenle made sure you didn't leave that room. "If Jeno knows that you almost passed out, the one who will get a knockout is me, so you will stay here. He will be here as soon as the fight is over."
You couldn't even be mad at Chenle. He was right. Obviously, he wouldn't let you go back there. But the curiosity was k1lling you. Did Jeno win? Did he lose? Shouldn't you be there for him no matter which result it was? Sure thing, and that is also punching you inside. He was strong enough to bear those punches, but you weren't.
Suddenly, the door opened. You look up fast, seeing Jeno's manager, just making room for Jeno to pass through the door, seeing you right away. You stood up in a rush, noticing immediately the bruises on his face, of course, now with all the medical care they do after the fights. Still, his skin was swollen and there was a bad cut on his right eyebrow and bottom lip.
Your feet ran to him automatically, involving him in a tight hug.
-O-Ouch... easy, baby... - He mumbles, and your arms back away like you had touched a hot pan.
-Sorry...! I just... I was so worried. - You stutter, stumbling in your own words as tears start to form in your eyes. You feel Jeno's hand cupping your face, with a touch as light as a rose petal. What contradictory. Someone who could open a hole on a wall could also have such delicacy.
-What happened, ugh? Chenle told me you felt bad. Are you okay? - You just chuckled, snuggling to his touch.
-Am I not the one who should be asking if you are okay? - You joked between sniffs, and he chuckles. - I'm sorry. I wasn't there for you at your most important moment. I saw everything you were going through... Seeing someone punching and kicking you like that... I... - You say, remembering everything again, and Jeno shakes his head, wiping off your tears.
-It's over now. - He says, pulling you to sit again on the bench beside him. - I told you it was not good for you to watch my fights, right? They're too violent. - His warm voice doesn't even feel like a scold. That tone, he only uses with you.
-I know... I thought I could handle it, but... I couldn't stand seeing someone I love getting hurt. - You say, and a sigh leaves his mouth. Watching the concern on your face, mixed with guilty of not being there, listening to these words from your lips, makes him go crazy.
-The way you're saying sounds like I was the only one getting punched. The other guy wasn't all good too. That's why he lost after all. - He jokes, and you look at him again in shock. That's right! You didn't even ask about the result!
-Wait... The golden belt... you...? - You say with widen eyes, and he smirks.
-Do you mean... that one? - He points at the wall next to the door, and you gasp, standing up and walking there.
The big golden belt is hanging on the wall with the words "UFC world champion". You look at him with bright eyes. Eyes full of pride and admiration. Eyes from a person who truly rooted for him.
-Take it. It's yours. - He says, and you look at him confused.
-Mine? No, it's yours. You fought for it. - You say, and he grins, taking the belt from the hanger.
-If it wasn't for you... - He starts, taking a step closer to you. - who supported me all this time... - He positions the belt in front of your belly. - who stayed by my side in my hard moments... - His face gets so close that his lips nearly touched yours, making your cheeks slightly blush. - motivating me not to give up... - He locks the belt in a harsher move, and your body is thrown forward, gluing to him. - I wouldn't be here. That's why he is yours. You made me who I am.
His hot breath hit your lips as his sharp gaze stared at your eyes. His words were not just blabbering. You could feel he was talking through his heart.
You smile, taking your hand to his head, caressing his head.
-Then, it's ours. Just the beginning of all of it. - You say, and he grins in a cute and shy expression. You get on your tiptoes, getting close to his cheek. - I will always be by your side. - You say, leaving a light kiss on the bruise on his cheek. - I will support you, even if it hurts me to see you like that. - You kiss his eyebrow and nose. - I will do anything to help you to follow your dreams, forever.
You finish the path with a light kiss on his lips, that Jeno didn't waste time deepening. The happiness of getting the golden belt and his love for you were coming all at once. He was always hardworking, but for the first time, he got himself thinking how lucky he could have all of this. That he didn't deserve someone like you, because you were perfect.
His hands went down to your hips, pulling you closer by the belt as his tongue entered your mouth. You were stepping on eggshells, caring not to hurt him even more, but Jeno didn't seem worried about it. He was intense, not caring about anything else.
-I love you. - He said, pausing to breathe. - Very very much. - A growl leaves his mouth, and you arch and eyebrow.
-You should see a doctor. - You say, and he laughs.
-I will... but later. Not now. - He jokes, lowering his head to search for your lips again, but another complaining whine hits him.
-Are you sure you are okay? Did you break anything? - You say, trying to move away from him.
-Maybe a rib. Or two... or three. But it's not that deep. - He says in a normal way, but you gasp.
-We are going to the doctor now. - You say, and her whines, pulling you back.
-Just 5 minutes more... - He begs with a pout.
-The faster you see the doctor, the faster you get kisses. Come on! - You say holding his hand and dragging him out of the locker room.
