Fatigue was taking over Daniel's mind, it wouldn't be too long now until he collapsed, but he was able to hold out just a while longer.

Daniel looked up at Reaper, the red-eyed shadow of himself.
He couldn't think of any words to say to the malicious entity, but if he did, he would've been too tired to say them anyway.

Reaper chuckled.
"What's with the long face?" He asked with a sinister tone.

Daniel didn't respond, it was taking all of his energy just to keep his eyes open, one singular sentence and he'd be out cold like everyone else.

Hazel was still crouched over Flame's body
"Flame can't hear you, and he won't no matter how much you try..."

Hazel looked at the dark entity before her.
"What do you mean...? And who are you anyway!?"

The shadow laughed.
"Apologies, I should introduce myself... The name's Reaper, I'm sure you've heard of me..."

Hazel's eyes widened.
"W-what..? But isn't he...?" She looked at Daniel momentarily, her eyes filled with fear and confusion.

Reaper chuckled.
"Well yes, but not exactly... You see I am actually Reaper, he's just the body through which I thrive..."

Hazel shook her head, unable to understand.
"I don't... What...?"

Reaper smirked with amusement.
"Hmmm... Answer me this then since you're so confused..."
The shadow paused for a moment.
"What colour were his eyes when you first met him...?"

Hazel shot Reaper a confused glance.
"They were Blue..." She responded eventually.

Reaper nodded.
"And what colour were they when he was fighting just a few hours ago?"

Hazel thought for a moment before it hit her.
"Red..."

Reaper smiled menacingly.
"Bingo!" He chuckled. "It wasn't Daniel you were seeing earlier... It was me... But then again, I am a part of him so take that how you will,"

Reaper shot Hazel a warm smile though she didn't take it that way at all.
She took a step and stumbled backward slightly, almost whacking Daniel in the face again.

The young Leafwing shot Daniel a glance.
He didn't say anything, or at least tried not to.
Daniel looked up at Hazel before muttering a single line.
"D-don't... Trust him..."

Not even a second later Daniel's snout met the ground, and he too was out cold, all while his dark alter ego watched with a pleased smile.

Hazel glanced worriedly between the two red Skywings on the ground in front of her. Eventually, her gaze met Reaper's once again.

Reaper tilted his head to the side.
"What's with the scared look? I'm not against you Hazel... You have no reason to be afraid..."

Hazel looked into the eyes of the devil as blood coloured smoke radiated off into the sky, blending into the glow of the moons behind them.

Reaper held out a talon.
"We're your friends Hazel, you know that right?"

Hazel glanced at the welcoming talon suspiciously.
At least that was until a second shadow joined Reaper beside him.

This new shadow had orange flames for eyes and was about the same height as Reaper.

The new shadow smiled cheerfully before speaking.
"Hazel..."
