"You sure leaving Daniel behind was the smartest Idea?!" Flame cried as he ducked underneath a wooden table that was flipped on its side.
A loose sword flew overhead a few moments later, lodging itself into a nearby wall.
"I feel like he'd know what to do in this situation!"

Hazel breathed heavily, taking cover behind a broken stone wall.
She peeked over slightly at the chaos that was occurring.
Turns out that without the queens in rule, some of the kingdoms had fallen into anarchy.

Even the Sky kingdom, despite having a supposed temporary ruler or committee set in place, was in total apocalyptic carnage.

Fire was everywhere, and smoke filled the air. No matter where you looked, there was some fight breaking out.
"Well, I didn't expect the place to be like this!" Hazel cried as part of her cover was completely blown to shreds.

Hazel collapsed further towards the ground, scrambling for cover as Flame dragged her towards him.
"I got you!"

Hazel latched onto Flame's arm as he frantically pulled her over just as another explosion could be heard in the distance.
The ground shook, and a few nearby pebbles made a small run down the path as a result.

"Where's Ruby?!" Hazel cried.

Flame pulled Hazel closer to him.
"I lost sight of her some time ago."
He sighed deeply, taking a few breaths in.
"We need to keep moving."

"Where, though?! This place is in anarchy!" She peered over the edge to see the chaos properly.

Currently, they were on the edge of a large plaza.
Ruins of a broken fountain lay in the centre, with pieces of broken stalls littered towards the sides.

Fire loomed overhead, there was enough smoke to temporarily mask the sun, and the shouting of dragons while they crashed into the environment only made it harder to hear.

"What are we meant to do?! We can't get everyone up and out of here if the place is like this!" Hazel cried.
"What's even going on?!"

Flame shook his head.
"I don't know, but we need to get to the palace. There's a large bell at the top that was recently installed. If we can ring it, it might be loud enough to stop the fighting. Not enough to solve everything, but definitely enough to get dragons to listen."

Hazel kept silent for a brief moment before her eyes widened.
"GET DOWN!"
He grabbed Flame by the horns before thrusting his head towards her.

As she did so. Flame's entire bodyweight fell on top of her while a large blast of fire ripped through the air above them.

Flame further pressed himself on Hazel to shield her and also avoid the immense heat that temporarily raged above them.

After the blast subsided, Flame leaned back a bit.
"Thanks-" he was cut off when Hazel suddenly came up and kissed him quickly.

It happened too fast for Flame to process; however, he was left with a small lingering aftertaste on his tongue.
Eventually, he snapped out of his momentary confusion.
"Really? Right now?!"

Hazel giggled.
"What? Am I not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?"

Flame stammered.
"W-Well, now is NOT the time-" Hazel placed a claw on his lips. Shutting him up.

"No, no, I will kiss you whenever I want, wherever I want. Understand?"
Hazel teased.

Flame raised brow.
"I did NOT take you for the bold kind."

Hazel rolled her eyes and smirked devilishly.
"Well... Being raised in diplomacy hasn't exactly let me explore my more adventurous side."
She chuckled.
"You forget that just because I'm a queen doesn't mean I have to be regal all the time."
