The Gatekeeper scowled at Flame who had a smug face on.
"So you see... I have you all figured out!"Anemone's eyes widened slightly.
"So THAT'S why you dream visited me with such an odd request!"Flame nodded but didn't look at her.
"Yep, and now that you've enchanted me never to be able to lose my memory again regardless of enchantments... There's nothing he can do about it..."Daniel watched the scene with a mix of surprise and pride as Flame stood up against the powerful shadow.
Flame smirked.
"Your weakness is yourself, your own-"
He was cut off as a large black tentacle coiled around his snout and tightened to where he couldn't even muffle a word. The Gatekeeper bared his radiant white teeth menacingly but didn't say anything.
At least not before he shot Flame a smirk of his own.
"My... I'll give it to you Crimson... You're smarter than I thought you were... But just as prideful and cocky as ever,"The shadow laughed.
"So what if you know my weakness? You can't do anything with it if you can't speak,"Flame tried to pry the coiled tentacle off but it was no use, his claws phased through it every time.
Upon seeing this, Daniel finally got the strength to stand back up.
The Gatekeeper turned to look at him and wasted no time pinning him back down again.A sharp black blur whipped towards Daniel before quickly wrapping around his throat.
He felt his airways tighten to the point where he could just barely breathe.Daniel coughed and gasped for as much air as he could, but every time he tried to take a big breath in, only the tiniest amount of oxygen ever reached his lungs.
The Gatekeeper's grin widened as Daniel struggled desperately for anything more than a bath-bubble worth of air.
"You really are pathetic..."
He launched Daniel through the air with one simple flick.Daniel hurtled through the blackened night momentarily.
The world spun dramatically before he eventually crashed and landed right underneath Queen Ruby's talons.Daniel looked up at the Skywing queen.
He muttered one line before breaking eye contact and coughing furiously.
"W-why... Why did you do it...?"Ruby looked down at him with a horrified look but there was nothing to be done.
Daniel was too weak to fight, that was obvious, so this time, despite everything telling him to get back up... He couldn't...Instead, Daniel's sickle collapsed next to him while the last of his dwindling energy was used to keep himself awake so he could at least see what was going on.
The Gatekeeper looked towards them.
"Now! As I was saying... Before SOMEONE rudely interrupted me!" He shot Flame a dirty glance.
"I'm here to collect your debts to me,"Nobody said anything, they were all too scared to.
The queens had their eyes fixated on the dragonets.Glory finally mustered up the courage to speak.
"Hey, I'll cut you a deal!"Daniel's eyes bulged the moment Glory's sentence finished.
"WHAT!?" he screamed, seemingly gaining back his strength, though it was probably just adrenaline.
"YOU'RE NOT SERIOUS!?"Glory ignored Daniel's screams.
"If you're going to do what I think you are then I'll cut you a deal..."
She took a nervous breath in.
"I'll offer myself in exchange for you letting the little ones go, they're innocent... And you know that. So take me instead."
