Daniel groaned as his eyes slowly opened.
The world faded into view, a cluster of stars loomed overhead, illuminated by the faint glow of the moons.

He got himself up, clutching the front of his head painfully.
'Ow... Three moons... why does this keep happening to me-'
His thoughts were cut off abruptly as he felt around his face.

He couldn't feel his snout, horns, or even scales...
He tried to get himself up by flapping his wings as he normally did, but nothing happened.

But then, he felt a sort of fluffy texture at the top of his head.
His body froze, and his mind started to race as he slowly brought his arm in front of him.

Daniel's eyes widened.
His arm wasn't red or orange; in fact, there weren't even any scales.
Instead, Daniel saw skin, regular, soft, smooth, pale skin.

What were once his talons were now hands and feet.
His wings, horns, and all aspects of a dragon were completely gone...

Daniel breathed heavily as he concluded.
'I'm human again...'

"Indeed, you are..." Suddenly, a voice spoke.

Daniel whipped around, or tried to.
The second he stood up, he felt himself unbalanced for a few moments before falling flat on his face.

"Careful," The voice spoke.
"You're not used to that yet..."

Daniel groaned as he ripped his face away from the ground.
He looked up, eyes widening after laying eyes on the source of the voice.

In front of him was a dragon, but not just any dragon.
Daniel was staring at himself, or his dragon form, at least, Hurricane.
He didn't know what to say, so instead, he just looked forward with a puzzled expression.

The Skywing looked at him.
"I know what you're thinking, so before you say anything, no, I'm not you, I'm not Hurricane, even though I appear to be so."

Daniel shifted himself into a sitting position after a little difficulty.
"So... Who-no, what." Daniel started, "What are you then?"

The dragon in front smiled.
"The name's Ruin, though my friends used to call me red,"

Daniel's jaw dropped, his the name echoed in his mind.
"You're..."

Ruin laughed.
"The ancient Skywing god or whatnot?" He asked playfully and rhetorically.
"Yeah, pretty much,"

Daniel didn't know how to react to that; there were so many questions that were overwhelming him, and not a single one came out.

Ruin noticed Daniel's face before he sighed.
"Alright, I can tell you're probably dumbfounded, so I'll start with the biggest question: how am I here?"
He paused.
"Well, I always was, except I was trapped, specifically inside my compass, which is now on Pantala."

Daniel's mind soon started to calm down as Ruin spoke.
"You... You were inside the relic?"

Ruin nodded.
"Not exactly, my soul was tethered to it, so I was able to walk around in spirit form, but nobody could see or hear me."

Daniel raised a brow.
"So, how are you here then? If the relic is on Pantala?"

Ruin made a slight face.
"Well... I may or may not have stolen your body..." He chuckled awkwardly.

Daniel's face fell.
"That's quite apparent..."

"Nono, as in like, I quite literally took your soul out of your body, put it inside your human one, and then took your own body for myself," He said casually.
