Daniel stared fearfully at the two entities towering over him.
They looked back at him with expressions that were both blank yet full of pain and suffering at the same time.

Their voices ricocheted in Daniel's mind.
'We're still alive...'
His heart banged against his chest, wanting to escape, to run, but nothing could be done.
He was trapped, stuck within the claws of whatever horrific thing was in front of him.

Daniel closed his eyes tightly.
'No! It's not them! They're dead! Daniel snap out of it!'
He opened his eyes again slowly, but instead of seeing the same two spectres of his friends, he was instead met with two joyful expressions of innocent dragonets.

"I'm going to show him to my dad!" The little Sandwing exclaimed before rushing off somewhere.
Daniel felt the wind get thrown out of him for a moment as he was taken.

The force of the movement caused the air to attack his eyes enough that  he needed to close them for a moment.

After a few seconds of whirlwinds, Daniel felt himself come to a sudden stop.
He opened his eyes and was immediately met with the sight of a kitchen, or at least a very primitive one.

About two hot stones were being used as grills, while a few other smooth ledges had chopped up vegetables and stacked wooden bowls.

Daniel's eyes widened slightly before he was semi-gently placed down on the ledge below him.
He saw the Sandwing turn to the Leafwing.
"Lilypad, keep him there, I'm going to go get my dad!"
And with that, he ran off.

Lilypad nodded before switching her attention to Daniel, who was looking back at her with wide eyes.
"Hey... Hey... Don't worry, little fellah, I'm not going to eat you."

Daniel didn't say anything; instead, he just stood up to look Lilypad in the eyes.
He didn't feel scared, or angry, he more felt like he was staring back at just another nobody.

Lilypad made an uneasy face before taking a subconscious step back.
"Why... Why are you looking at me like that...?"

Daniel kept silent, opting to instead take a few steps closer, or at least as many as he could before he reached the edge of the ledge he was on.

Lilypad took a few more steps back.
"S-Stop looking at me like that!"

Daniel tilted his head to the side in an attempt to mimic a sense of confusion.
"What?"
Daniel snapped his mouth shut, realising he'd just blown his cover.

Lilypad's eyes widened as she froze in place.
"D-Did... Did you just speak...?"

Daniel took some steps back, his face morphed into one of clear awkwardness, before he extremely uncasually turned away.

Lilypad quickly snapped out of her trance-like state.
"H-Hey! Don't just turn away from me!" she shouted.

Daniel kept his back to her, instead scouting the surrounding area for any other dragons while also playing dumb.
Unfortunately, he didn't get much of a chance as not even a second later the young Sandwing returned, bounding up and down quickly as an older dragon trailed behind.

"Look! Look!" Said the young Sandwing as he pointed a claw directly at where Daniel was standing.
"Come! Look!"

The older dragon looked over and it was at this time that Daniel noticed that the older supposed 'father' of the Sandwing was actually a Skywing.
He had blood red over scales that were similar to Flame's, however his under scales were a sort of light pale pink.
His eyes were orange and had this sort of mean battle hardened look to them as if he'd seen a lot of things.
