Daniel and Ruin landed in possibility as the sun was starting to make itself known from behind the horizon.

Things seemed to be somewhat back to normal since Daniel's last visit.
Though there was a small unsettling feeling that the town looked a little too peaceful.

Daniel climbed off Ruin's back and landed on the stone pavement that lined most of the city streets.

"Well, this is the place," Ruin said, stretching his back a little.
"What exactly did you want to see here?"

"Just someone," Daniel responded before starting to enter the town.
Dragons were walking around like usual, stalls were open, and there was the normal mutter of voices in conversation.
Yet, there was still a sort of uneasy tension in the air.

Daniel looked around at the busy plaza.
Flashbacks of that day suddenly returned to him, the blood on the ground, the screams of surrounding dragons, as well as the looks of fear and horror that followed him as he walked by.

Daniel looked down at his hands, his breathing started to quicken, and he could feel his heart start to beat rapidly.
For a moment, he was back, back in that very moment, the very moment where he lost control for the first time...

Blood coated his talons as he stood above the mangled body of the Skywing.
Guts, brains, wings, muscle, scales, and blood lay in the centre of the plaza as Daniel continuously sliced, crushed, and bashed the dead body mercilessly.

Teeth were scattered on the floor, fragments of broken horns and bones along with them.
With every slice that Daniel made into the corpse, a chunk of fresh meat would be launched a few metres away.

Daniel continued his brutal assault until most of the upper body of the dragon was pretty much just mangled mush.
He breathed heavily as a metallic taste made its way into his mouth.
His scales were soaked in red as he stepped away from the mashed-up corpse.

Daniel felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and was met with Winter's cloaked face.
"Hey... Are you alright?"

Daniel's brows furrowed slightly.
"Aren't you dead...?"

A few moments later, Kinkajou came bounding up to him, also wrapped in her dark cloak.
"What are you talking about?"

Daniel's heart rate quickened, and his breathing became more shallow.
Winter placed another talon on his shoulder, looking him in the eyes.
"Daniel, wake up!"
Daniel shook his head, closing his eyes and looking away from his deceased friend.

After a few moments, he turned back, but was met with Ruin looking at him with a concerned face.
"Daniel! Are you okay!?"

Daniel shook his head quickly, looking around at the scene.
The plaza was back to being busy as usual, there was no blood to be seen anywhere, and he wasn't a dragon.

Daniel calmed his breathing.
"O-oh! Y-yeah I'm fine!" He quickly said, "Just some uh... Just some memories..."

Ruin at Daniel.
"Are you sure you're alright? It looked like you just saw a ghost..."

Daniel let out a sigh.
"Something like that..." He muttered under his breath.

"What?"

"I said we're good to go!" Daniel quickly lied.

Ruin wasn't convinced, but he didn't press further.
"Alright then... So where to?"

"I have no idea," Daniel started to walk forward.

"What?! What do you mean you have no idea!?" Ruin cried out as he quickly followed behind Daniel into the crowd.

"Okay, well, I do know who I want to talk to, I just... Have no idea where she is..."
Daniel clarified. "Just...! Keep an eye out for- OH SHOO-!"
He dived out of the way of a stray Mudwing talon that came crashing down right where he was standing.
