Daniel stood on Ruin's shoulder as he looked out into the Academy.
He scanned the area, analysing each face he saw, all of which bore a remarkably similar expression of surprise.

"D-Daniel?"
He turned his head over towards the source of the voice.
There, he saw Sundew, who looked almost on the verge of tears.

Ruin glanced at Daniel.
"So I take it that these are your friends?"

"DANIEL!"
Suddenly, Flame rushed over from out of nowhere and gave Ruin a tight hug, almost toppling him over.
Moon soon joined Flame in the hug, tears in both of their eyes.
"I thought I lost you..." Moon sobbed.

Ruin made a slightly awkward face, looking at Daniel for some answer.

Daniel sighed.
"Yeah, for the most part."
He was about to say something else

"YOU'RE ALIVE!" Sundew cried out as a few loose tears streamed down her face.
"HOW?!"

Ruin let out a small chuckle.
"Ah... Explanation time... Great..."
He was about to say something else, but was cut off when Sky spoke up before him.

"Sundew! Cricket!" He shouted joyfully, catching the attention of most of the dragons apart from Moon and Flame, who still had their snouts buried in Ruin's chest.

Sundew shook her head in bewilderment.
"Sky?! What are you doing here?"

"We came to help!" Sky exclaimed as soon as both Wren and Blossom made their way into view.
Everyone in the room either raised a brow or had their jaws drop in confusion.

Blossom sighed.
"This is going to take a good while of explaining..."

Daniel sighed.
"Feels like that almost daily for me now..."
He gestured for Ruin to lower him to the ground.
The red dragon complied as he raised his free talon off the ground for Daniel to stand on before lowering him to the ground.

Now, Daniel looked up at everyone as a human, his friends, dragons he'd grown close to and gotten to know over the past few months, looked down on him oddly.

Tamarin stared at Daniel with a puzzled look.
"I have so many questions.."

Anemone nodded as she stood next to her.
"So do I..."

Daniel didn't really know what to say to start the whole explanation thing, so when Hailstorm opted to speak up, Daniel was relieved.

"Who are you?" Hailstorm asked as he looked down at Daniel.

Daniel was about to respond, but got cut off.
"He can't understand you," Cricket spoke up.
"Humans and Dragons speak different languages, so she likely doesn't know what you're saying." She looked at Wren.
"But Wren does."

Hailstorm looked over, and now everyone's attention was on Wren. The silence grew louder by the second as Daniel felt small both literally and figuratively as he stood in the centre of the room.

"You came to help, Wren?" Cricket added.

Wren caught a glimpse of Cricket's stare before she lowered her voice into a growling tone.
"Well, it's a long story, but Sky and I stumbled upon your friend here who filled us in about the whole issue regarding Animi, or otherwise known as the Gatekeeper."

"You know about the Gatekeeper?!" Ostrich yelled.
"How?!"

"I think that we should first ask who she is?" Hazel stated.
"Also, Flame, Moon, give Daniel some space, would you?"

Daniel raised a brow but soon realised that Moon and Flame were still actively clinging on to Ruin.
At least until they were commanded to let him be.
