Charlie's POV

Another boring day at work. I sigh, knowing that I have at least four more hours. I suppose it could be worse; at least it's not free slushie day. I get out at 2 pm, coming in at 8 am. I would work more hours, but with Joan and I's little girl not being old enough to be in school, I can't work too much, so I can watch her. Tristan goes to daycare from 8 to noon, and hangs out with my dads or Issac if needed. I would ask Mister and Misses Vattersby, but they're often busy with their bakery. I hear my phone ring and check it since there is no one in the store, and it was Tristan's daycare, so I answer.

"Mister McKenny, are you able to pick up your daughter?" The Secretary asks.

Worry instantly fills my brain. "Is Tristan okay?"

"She's fine, it's just... we have no daycare attendants to watch her. Our two attendants are out, one is on honeymoon, and the other is out sick. A lot of the other children are out sick too. We're waiting for parents to pick up the children, and our daycare will be closed until a daycare attendant is back to watch the children. We'll let you know when daycare will be back in session. I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience, but could you pick Tristan up?" She said.

"I can't pick her up, but I can call her grandpa to pick her up," I reply.

"I'll be waiting with her until she can be picked up." The Secretary hums.

I sigh once more as we hang up. Tristan loves daycare, and I'm sure she's upset to miss it. I quickly dial my dad's number, and he picks up.

"Is everything okay? You're at work, right?" Dad queries.

"I am at work, but I need you to pick up Tristan," I reply.

"Is she feeling okay?" He asks.

"Yes, she's okay, but the daycare is closing for the next few days," I explain.

"I see. Well, Sinclair isn't able to pick her up; he worked himself too hard, so it'll just be me. I'm sure Tristan will love spending some time with Grandpa." Dad responds.

"Is he alright?" I inquire.

"Just tired and needing rest, he'll be alright." He hums.

"Alright, thank you for picking her up. Tell Dad that I hope he feels better." I return, hanging up.

Angus' POV

I put my phone in my pocket and tiptoe to the bedroom that Sinclair and I share. I was just watching some shows on bartending and not doing much. I knocked lightly on the door and walked in. Sinclair rolled over in bed, smiling at me.

"Are you checking on me?" He hums.

I kiss his forehead. "Yes, but I was just letting you know that I was going to pick up Tristan."

"Pick up Tristan? Shouldn't she be at daycare?" Sinclair questions, coughing to clear his throat.

"She should, but the daycare is closing; it's probably something to do with the awful sicknesses going around," I reply.

"Is she sick?" He questions.

"No, I don't think so," I answer.

"I can watch her if you want to-" I cut him off.

"Absolutely not!- I kiss his cheek -You need to stay here in bed. You worked too hard yesterday, and you need to rest."

"Okay, sure. I'll stay here, but could you get me another cup of tea?" Sinclair requests.

"Of course, love. The herbal lemon lavender blend? Do you want honey? And ginger?"

"Yes, please." He whispers.
