0715- In The Eyes Abides The Heart

"Good morning." Logan leans down and kisses my head, he's already up, showered and dressed for the day.

I sit up properly and Logan immediately gives me my coffee, vitamins and a pastry.

"Are you going to be okay today?" He asks and I nod.

"I really don't want you here alone, I can't leave you here alone." He tells me and sits down next to me in bed.

"Logan, I'll be okay." I move my coffee to my night stand and crawl into his lap as best as I can. He notices what I'm doing and gently pulls me into his lap.

He doesn't say anything, just moves his hand up and down my thigh.

"The last time I left you here-" He shakes his head and cuts himself off.

"I'll be fine, no one wants to hurt me anymore." I tell him and he groans.

"That's a lie, A.D?" He points out.

I tilt his head so he's looking into my eyes.

"I'm safe here." I tell him and his eyes widen and he scoffs.

"Gracie, you've never been safe here." He tells me.

I mean he's not wrong.

"I need to check in with Ali and Emily." I tell him and he takes my head between his hands.

"Trust me, I understand what they're going through, I do. But you need to stay where I can keep you safe." He tells me.

"You can't protect me from everything." I point out.

"Yeah, well watch me." He shrugs.

I groan out his name and he sighs.

"You start back at work today and I think you'd benefit from being in an actual office." He tells me. "I will also be around so I know you and bean are safe. You're not being fair." He tells me and I roll my eyes.

"You're not being fair either, I can take care of myself and I can take care of my baby even if I messed it up last time." I tell him and I watch the fight drop from his face.

"Gracie." He sighs and shakes his head. "This has nothing to do with me not believing that you can't take care of yourself and our baby but everything to do with you being taken from me twice and me not being able to do anything about it." He admits.

"You don't know what that feels like, I know you want your independence and you can have it. I just also want you closer to me. If something happens whilst I'm in the city it will take a long time to get back to you."

"I want to be in your office, I hate working in the conference room, I feel like everyone's looking at me." I give in.

He gives me so much peace of mind and I should give some to him too.

"Done." He kisses my head before helping me up and in to the bathroom to shower.

I then get dressed and do my hair and makeup.

I check in with Ali and Emily who are doing a blood test for the baby to make sure that the baby actually is Emily's.

Logan helps me down the stairs and out to the car whilst carrying both our bags of our work stuff.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Logan comes into his office and comes to beside where I'm sat to kiss my head.

The second I got into the office, I had to rush to the bathroom to throw up immediately. Going from the scent of cigarettes outside to strong coffee inside made me throw up so much.
