Ch.315 Foundling

It is the first week of January 2026, and Emma was at home with her children in the morning. She was off since Hope is on winter vacation. Killian was at the pub to check on the inventory. He looks at his door entrance and sees a basket. "What do we have here?" He opens the basket and sees a sleeping baby inside. "Bloody hell!! Help!!!" He scoops the baby in his arms. "You are going to be okay."

Ruby runs to Killian and sees a baby. "Oh my gosh!"

"I just found the little one."

"Take the baby inside. I will call Emma and David." He wrapped the baby in a blanket. Granny came quickly. "Ruby, I called Emma. She is on her way." Granny wrapped the baby in a thicker blanket.

"I will go find the mother." She sniffs the baby and goes away to track the mother of the baby.

Emma was helping Ian with an arts and crafts project that he and his sisters were working on. She receives a call on her iPhone. "This is Sheriff Swan."

"Emma, this is Granny. There was an abandoned baby found at Killian's pub. David is on his way, and Ruby went searching for the mother."

She was surprised. "I am on my way." She went to the stairs. "Henry!"

Henry arrived downstairs in his pajamas. "Yes?"

"I need to go into town on a case."

"It sounds urgent."

"Yes, there is an emergency."

Hope and Leia went to their Mommy and hugged her. "Mommy, don't go!"

"Stay here!"

"Girls, I am needed on an emergency. You two need to stay here with Henry."

"Hope, Leia, we can finish your art project. Mom will be back soon." Emma puts her coat on and snow boots.

"Bye, Mommy."

"Bye, Hope, Leia, and Ian."

"Bye!" Ian waves his paint-covered hands and continues to finger paint.

She faced her oldest son. "Call me if anything..."

"We will be alright here, Mom. You are needed in town."

Emma went to her yellow bug and drove into town.

At the pub, the foundling was being examined by an EMT with Kiillian close by. Granny got blankets from the inn to keep the baby warm. Charming was there, examining the basket and searching for clues. "This newborn baby girl is 6 hours old. She does not have frostbite. You need to keep her warm for now."

Granny faced the EMT worker, "This baby was abandoned."

Charming faced the same worker, "There are protocols for foundlings, like taking the baby to the hospital to be checked on."

Emma arrives, seeing an ambulance in front of her husband's pub. Charming sees his daughter. "Emma."

"Dad, what happened?"

"Killian found a baby girl in a basket. No note. Nothing."

"How old is a baby?"

"Newborn baby girl. An EMT is checking her out. She is healthy."

"Any clues?"

"Ruby is looking for the mother or the person who dropped off the baby at the pub. Regina is looking through cameras with Mulan around town to see if they can find the person. Your Mom is tracking the mother or whoever abandoned the baby.."

"For some reason, the person chose my husband's pub for the baby to be found in."

"Yes. Knowing the baby would be some place where there are caring people."
