We were all huddled together after training, gathered around the console as the day finally came to an end. To the top off the day, though, a noticeably happier Douglas came skipping down the stairs toward us, practically glowing with excitement. "Guess who I just got off the phone with?" he asked, gesturing toward his phone with a chuckle. "Giselle Vickers." Bree furrowed her brows as she leaned against the console. "The big Hollywood filmmaker?" "Who?" I asked, not particularly bothered by the information as I texted a meme to one of my... friends.

"Oh, come on! She's legendary! Don't you remember all those killer zombie-trucker movies we watched? Because of her, I can't even pee at a truck stop." Leo paced excitedly around the room, while both brothers nodded in agreement. "Ohhh, that Giselle Vickers." I nodded, putting my phone away. "Oh, I didn't realize there was another one." I rolled my eyes at Douglas' muttering. He was clearly moody as he sat down at the other console. "Her next blockbuster is going to be called Bionic Action Hero."

"Awesome! What's it about?" Adam asked. Douglas chuckled, but his amusement earned little to no reaction. Apparently, Giselle hadn't told him enough about the movie yet. "A bionic action hero." Adam's smile immediately dropped. He turned toward the rest of us with a skeptical look. "Huh. Save your money. Sounds like a flop."

"And the best part? It's based on you guys." Douglas gestured toward all of us. "Ooh, sounds like it's going to go up the charts." I said, deliberately complimenting it in the complete opposite way Adam had. Hearing that the movie was actually based on us, Bree, Adam, and I immediately perked up with excitement. Chase, however, circled around us until he was standing directly in front of Douglas. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! The same person who makes those lame zombie movies is going to make our movie?" he scoffed, dismissing the idea. "No way!"

"Must. You. Ruin. Everything?!" Leo growled, slamming his fist onto the console before getting right in Chase's face, making me nod in agreement. "Relax, Chase." Douglas placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Giselle's an old college friend. We spent a lot of time in the robotics lab together before she switched careers."

Friend, huh?

"We even dated a bit."

And there it is.

"What happened?" I asked, unable to hide my grin as I sensed some juicy details about Douglas's past coming my way. "Did she ditch you because of the bad salsa?" I teased him, remembering some of the good moments from before my dad had finally learned to trust him. Douglas shot me a scolding glare. "No! Sometimes people grow apart, Dawn." He turned in his chair, clearly not wanting to make eye contact. "She dumped you, didn't she?" Bree concluded. I immediately fist-bumped her, while Douglas dramatically placed a hand over his chest. "Worst day of my life! And I've been to prison four times!"
