Nicole
-

I woke up on my desk, a small puddle of drool next to me, and my alarm going off like crazy. I looked at the time to see it was 4:30 in the morning and I quickly got up. I picked out my clothes for the day, which consisted of jeans and a burgundy, long sleeve shirt, and I walked into the bathroom, taking the quickest shower possible. After I got out I brushed my hair and put on my clothes when I remembered that my car was still at the diner.

"Shit." I said and threw my brush in the old drawer. I sighed and made my way to the kitchen to get started on breakfast and dinner. I decided to make bacon and serve my brothers cereal then for dinner I prepared a salad and some mac and cheese because I had to leave for work right after school.

Once I finished I ran up to wake up my brothers and then began sorting through the dirty laundry and putting away the clean clothes I had folded in the basket. I quickly put everything in its place and I checked the time only to see it was already 5:30 and I had morning soccer practice at six.

"Guys I'm going to have to leave soon!Jacob take your brother to school and I swear if I hear that you skipped school you'll regret it!" I said before grabbing my bags and leaving out the door. I made my way downstairs and once I made it outside I began to walk the dimly lit streets. I took a deep breath in and shook my head. As I continued to walk I could hear several noises that scared the shit out of me. I hated walking in the mornings, especially when it's dark. by now I was running and I decided to make a stop at the Starbucks down the street to catch my breath.

When I finally made it to a Starbucks I took a deep breath in, trying to relax my tense body. I walked over to the bathroom, looking down at my feet, trying my best to calm down when I bumped into something hard, making something fall on the ground and spill.

"I am so sorry." I said and I looked up only to see the brown haired boy from last night, Shawn.

"Nicole." He smiled. "You okay? You look like you just saw a ghost."

"Yeah, something like that." I laughed nervously and looked down at the ground. "Sorry about your coffee, I'll get you a new one."

"No, no, its okay I was done with it anyway, but can I get you something?"

"No, its fine I have to get to school."

"Its five in the morning." He chuckled and I slightly smiled.

"Well I have soccer practice at six, now why are you here at five in the morning?"

"I couldn't sleep so I came here to sit down and write." He shrugged.

"You're a writer?"

"Something like that." He nodded and I looked at my phone to see it was already 5:50.

"Shit, I have to go, I'll see you soon." I smiled and began to walk away until he called out for me.

"Wait! Let me give you a ride." He said and I shook my head.

"No its fine, I can walk, thank you for offering though." I smiled, beginning to walk away.

"I'm giving you a ride." He said and grabbed my arm, pulling me outside into the cold. We walked towards his gray Jeep and he turned it on as I put on my seatbelt. He put on the music and Perfectly Lonely by John Mayer started to play.
