Once I got into his car I started to question what I was doing, feeling uncomfortable even if I was in a safe atmosphere. I couldn't do this again, I couldn't leave my brothers and I couldn't  be selfish. Every time someone ends up hurt and I can't do that to myself or mu brothers. I have done this too many times before and it always ended badly.

"Wait!" I said and he stopped the car, only a few feet away from my apartment. I took a deep breath in and unbuckled my seatbelt. "I'm sorry Shawn I can't, this was a mistake, I should really stay home with my brothers."

I quickly got out of the car and walked back to the apartment in the cold weather, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Nicole! Wait!" Shawn got out of the car also, following behind me as fast as he could. "What happened? Everything was fine."

"Nothing, I just, I can't leave my brothers right now and I can't be selfish."I shook my head. "I feel bad."

"How is this being selfish?" He pulled my arm, making me look at him.

"I have to be there, I have to take care of them because they need me." I sighed and furrowed my eyebrows. "I'm sorry I wasted your time Shawn, the flowers and everything was a sweet gesture., but it's out of my control."

"Listen, you're not being selfish." He rubbed both his hands on my shoulders. "If anything you are the complete opposite and sometimes you just need some you time, it's not a bad thing. This is not a waste of my time, trust me."

"You barely know me Shawn."

"Just give me time to get to know you and you to know me" He said and took my hand in his, making me feel reassured. "Come on, let's go."

I slightly smiled as he led me back into the car and we left to the unknown destination, feeling a bit better after the small pep talk. During the whole car ride there it felt as if it took seconds seeing as we were constantly singing to songs we both knew.

"You're a really good singer. " I sat back in my seat and he chuckled. "Then again you are crazy famous, what am I saying?"

"I just love music, it's my passion." He shrugged.

"Sing me one of your songs."

"What?" He laughed, turning to look at me with a bewildered face.

"You heard me." I smiled and he cleared his voice exaggeratedly, making me giggle.

"Okay, shut the radio off." I did as he said and suddenly he began to hum. He sang with such passion and I was completely mesmerized by his voice and the words that came out of his mouth.

"Could you quit staring?" He stopped and laughed.

"Shh, keep going." He continued to sing, bringing tears to my eyes. How could someone sound so beautiful? When he had finished the song I had tears sliding down my face and I could not stop thinking about the sublime lyrics.

"That was amazing." I wiped my tears away.

"I made you cry." He snickered, making me slap his arm.

"What's it called?"

"Never Be Alone." He smiled. It took us a few more minutes until we finally arrived to a small area that was lit up. He got out of the car, Shawn opening the door for me so I could step out before he could cover my eyes with his hands.

"Wait a minute." I lifted my hands up, walking slowly as he guided me, unsure of where I was going.

"It's a surprise, do you trust me?" He whispered.
