After a full two weeks of being sick, missing four days of school, finding out I had an ear infection, and taking medication I could now say I am almost back to complete health, except for the constant runny nose and coughing.

I found myself now sitting at my desk, staring at my computer trying to write my valedictorian speech. How do I even start?

'Class of 2016..'

No thanks.

"Teachers, parents, faculty.."

Ugh, no.

I deleted it and crossed my arms, not knowing what to write and looking at the time to see it was midnight. I grabbed my phone and called Adrian. After a few rings he answered and I laughed as he groaned.

"What could you possibly want at this ungodly hour?"

"I'm good too thanks for asking."

"Sorry, what's up?" I heard him sigh and I chuckled.

"I have no idea how to start this speech."

"The valedictorian speech?"

"Yes."

"What do you have so far?"

"Absolutely nothing."

"Okay, well, write what you feel?"

"How?"

"Talk about your high school experience."

"Oh you mean my shitty one?"

"No, talk about your personal growth, your life experience."

"Meaning?"

"Nicole, you are a strong and independent person who is selfless and understands what life means. Write about that. You are an inspiration."

I smiled as he spoke and nodded as if he could see me.

"You're right, thank you Adrian."

"Of course, now let me go back to sleep."

"Goodnight loser." I rolled my eyes and hung up the phone. I sighed, placing my hands at the keyboard and beginning to write. The words flowed out of my head and onto the screen. I was up until five in morning, writing, revising, and speaking my speech out loud. I smiled, looking at my completed work and emailing it to my principal and my english teacher.

I closed my computer, throwing myself on my bed and scrolling through my phone before taking a three hour nap. I was woken up by Hunter who was laying next to me and had his leg thrown over me.

I chuckled and rubbed my eyes, looking at my phone to see a goodmorning text from Shawn. I texted him back and stretched myself out in my bed, groaning quietly as I did so, not wanting Hunter to wake. I looked out my window, smiling as I began to think of our plans today.

Since we never had time for my mom to properly meet Shawn's parents, we decided to spend the day with them today at their house. We made plans to meet them at their house at two in order to have a little backyard barbeque before going to a drive in movie later.

I turned to Hunter who had his mouth open as he slept, making me giggle. I poked his lip and his eyes fluttered open. He smiled and I began to tickle him, making him laugh.

"Goodmorning bubba." I squished his cheeks and kissed his forehead.

"Morning hermana." He groaned.

"What do you say we go get some breakfast to bring home?"

"Ihop?" He asked I nodded.

"Whatever you want, just put your sneakers on and your jacket." He nodded and went downstairs. I took off my top, putting on a bra and Shawn's gray hoodie that he decided to give me since he said I kept taking all of his. I put my hair up in a ponytail, taking out a few strands in the mirror, and grabbed my bag before slipping on my dirty white vans.
