Chapter 36

After eating our food we all sat down at the couch to watch a movie before Shawn and I left to the party. The entire way there we were singing along to Bruno Mars or John Mayer. We parked across the street from the well lit house with loud music playing. I left my jacket in the car and Shawn opened the door for me as I got out. I smiled and we walked hand in hand up to the house, receiving a few looks from mostly the girls. 

"Nicole!" Tanya called as we walked inside the house. She ran up to me and gave me a hug. 

"Hey girl."  I smiled and as I hugged her I saw Jason behind her. 

"Hey Jason, how are you?" 

"Hey Nicole, I'm good, I haven't talked to you in a while." 

"Yeah I know it feels like forever, I'm glad you two came together." I smiled and he held her hand. 

"I am too." 

"This is Shawn, my boyfriend." I introduced Shawn and Tanya shook his hand and Jason gave him a bro hug. 

"Nice to meet you Shawn, I'm happy to see you guys are doing good." Tanya smiled. 

"It's nice to meet both of you, especially you Tanya. Thank you for being such a great friend for Nicole." 

"It's no problem, who wouldn't love Nicole." 

"Thanks Tanya." I smiled and we walked towards the kitchen to serve ourselves some drinks. I grabbed a red cup and took the vodka along with some cranberry juice and ice. 

"You guys want one?" I asked over the loud music. 

"Jason and I are good, thanks girl." Tanya responded and I nodded. 

"You don't want one?" I asked Shawn and he shook his head. 

"I have to drive." 

"I'll be the DD for tonight Shawn, I'm not drinking." 

"Are you sure?" 

"Yes, you need to let loose babe. If anything I'll just have a beer." I shrugged and handed him the red cup. He smiled and took a sip of the drink, making a face. 

"Damn you make it strong." He said and we both laughed. 

"I'm a pro." I shrugged. "Come on let's go dance!" 

I grabbed Shawn's hand and led him out to the dance floor with Tanya and Jason following behind us. Drake started to play and we both rapped the lyrics while we jumped up and down. The night continued and we were all having a huge amount of fun. Shawn was already three drinks in and I had finished my first and only beer, not really wanting to drink because I was having fun. I laughed as he stumbled a bit and held onto me while we danced. A few people took pictures and videos with Shawn, he even met up with some of his friends. While I continued to dance with Tanya, Shawn left with one of his friends to catch up. 

"I'll be right back." I yelled over the music and went to the kitchen to grab a water. I took a sip and saw Shawn in the dining room talking to one of his friends. As I was about to enter the room I stopped myself when I overheard their conversation. 

"Look Shawn all I'm saying is be careful." The guy said. 

"Brian I'm happy, and I would think you would be happy for me too." He slurred, poking Brian's chest. 

"I'm just saying, almost half of the school has been in her pants from what I've heard." He spoke and I slightly gasped. 

"Dude, that's my girlfriend you're talking about." Shawn scoffed. "I don't care about the rumors because I know the real Nicole."
