Chapter 38

"Muchas gracias." Shawn said to our the clerk at the store, with an accent, making me laugh. He rolled his eyes and we walked out of the small store in town. The town was colorful and filled with many people of different races. There was the smell of food and the bright lights filled the shopping center. I held Shawn's hand in mine while we walked around, looking at the shops.

"Are you going to want to eat soon?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, but this time you order because spanish is hard." He shook his head and I laughed.

"Alright I will." I nodded. "What are you going to want to do after we eat?"

"I was thinking we can go chill out at the hotel, I need a shower." He chuckled.

"Sounds like a plan to me." I shrugged and we walked into an open taco place. We took our seats in front of the the grill where the meat was being cooked and a waiter came up to us with a small notepad on in his hand.

"Que les puedo dar hoy?" (What can I get for you today?) The waiter smiled and I turned to look at Shawn who was confused.

"Me da dos de carne asada, una quesadilla y una Coca por favor." (Can I get two carne asada, a quesadilla, and a Coke please.) "What do you want Shawn?"

"Whatever you got please." He smiled and I nodded. I told the waiter to double that order and he gladly gave it to the cook who was cooking.

"I should teach you how to speak spanish."

"Yeah, that'd be great." He smiled.

"So what's the plan for tomorrow?"

"I was thinking that we can go snorkeling and ziplining if you're up for it. And if we have time we can rent a boat to sail before leaving."

"That sounds like so much fun, I'm excited!" I smiled. The waiter soon came to give us our food and took the lid off of the glass bottle of Coke for us.

"Cheers, to us." Shawn said and I smiled.

"To us." We clinked together ur bottles and took a sip before taking a bite of our tacos. I put some of the red salsa with onions and cilantro on my taco, Shawn following behind me and doing the same. While Shawn ate his food I took out my phone so I could text my brother to see if they were okay.

Me: Hey brother how are you guys?

Sent.

We both ate our food until there was nothing left on our plates and Shawn paid for our food before we walked back to the hotel, which luckily was near the town.

"Thanks for dinner Shawn."

"Anytime hun."

Shawn held my hand and we walked out of the town, making our way to the well lit hotel a couple blocks away.

Jacob: Everything is great sis, we're having a movie night with Shawn's family and it's actually fun, how's the trip?

Me: That's great! And it's amazing he brought me to cancun, the beach is so nice. I wish you guys were here with me to enjoy this.

Jacob: Jeez that's awesome! I wish we were there with you, but have fun and enjoy, you deserve this big sis.

Me: Thanks brother, tell Hunter I said hi. See you tomorrow night, love you.

Jacob: Love you too.

I smiled and put my phone in the back pocket of my shorts.

"Was that your brother?"

"Yeah, he says that they're having fun and your family is having a movie night with them."
