Chapter 57

I looked out the car window and realized that we were on the Pacific Coast Highway, making our way down to Nobu. This was the one restaurant I had told Shawn I had never been to when I lived here, I'm just surprised he remembered since I had told him months ago. My smile grew on my face and I turned around to wrap my arms around Shawn.

"You remembered." I looked him in the eyes and he smiled, nodding.

"Of course I did, I have to treat my queen."

"Thank you Mr.Mendes."

We were dropped off at the front of the restaurant. I held Hunter's hand in my right hand while Shawn opened the door for us. We could hear all of the hustle and bustle from the front of the restaurant.

"Hi how can I help you?" The hostess asked and Shawn responded promptly.

"Hi, I have a reservation under Shawn."

As he said his name the hostess looked on the long list of names and smiled, pointing to his.

"Ah right this way."

She grabbed six menus, walking us through the beautifully lit restaurant and outside where it was secluded from everyone else. Our table had an amazing view of the beach and it was perfect because it was neither too hot or too cold, just right. Hunter and Jacob got seated while Shawn pulled out the chair right next to his for me. I smiled, sitting down before he sat down at the end of the table. We had a view of the beautiful beach, the waves crashing peaceful in front of us and a slight breeze hitting us. I placed my napkin on my lap, as did the rest of them and I watched the waves.

"It's so beautiful." I smiled and Shawn held my hand on the table.

"So are you."

"Thank you for bringing us here Shawn, this is great." I kissed his hand and he had a silly grin on his face just as Geoff and Andrew came towards our table. Shawn hugged both of them before they sat down and soon enough the waitress came to take our orders. We all ordered different things for all of us. Shawn and I chose to order some sushi while my brothers actually ordered some plates along with Geoff and Andrew. We all conversed, talking about the show and how well it went. As Andrew was speaking to Shawn about an upcoming interview, my phone began to ring like crazy. I looked down and saw it was Dr.Greene's personal cell. My heart stopped.

"You okay?" Shawn asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, I just have to take this." I smiled and kissed him before getting up and walking inside to the bathroom. I hesitated before answering and placing the phone to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hi Nicole, how are you?"

"I'm good and you Dr.Greene?" I said as I pushed open the bathroom door and closed it behind me.

"I'm good as well, now I know you are currently not in town, but I'm calling you because I need to come to the hospital as soon as you get back."

"Is everything okay? Is my mom okay?"

"Everything is perfectly fine,"

"But?"

"I would much rather prefer to say this to you in person."

"Until what time will you be at the hospital tomorrow?"

"Until whatever time you need me."

"I get back tomorrow night, I'm pretty sure I can be there at nine or ten."

"Okay, see you here Nicole."

"Thank you Doctor."

"And please don't stress Nicole, this is nothing to worry about."
