Chapter 32

We pulled up to the small breakfast place Shawn has been talking about non-stop in the car and we parked the car behind the building in the parking lot. It was currently eight in the morning and there were a few people such as mothers with their small children and elderly couples. We walked towards the front of restaurant and we were met with a a few paparazzi, but we didn't pay much attention to them. Shawn opened the door for me and I walked in to the small, warm restaurant.

We sat at a booth, sitting in front of each other, and we took a look at the menu.

"Hello, I'm Nancy i'll be your server today, what can I get for you guys?" A middle aged woman walked up to our table.

"I'll take a water and the omelette with a side of bacon and pancakes please." Shawn said and she wrote it down before looking at me.

"I'll take a coffee with sunny side up eggs, hash browns, and french toast please." I smiled and she finished writing everything down and walked away after taking our menus.

"So, any new songs babe?" I asked and he smiled.

"Actually yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll release an album this year and a song soon."

"That's good!"

"I have to finish up this tour though, it starts in March."

"Do you like performing?"

"Hell yeah, I frickin love it." He said and we laughed.

"I should go to one of your shows."

"You should go to the one in New York!"

"I can't leave my brothers here by themselves babe, plus I'll probably have work."

"And if I bring your brothers? Just for one day, please."

"I'll think about it babe." I smiled and he did too. After a few minutes our food came and we dug in, not even talking because the food was so good. Before we knew it our food was completely gone and I was facing Shawn drinking my coffee as he drank some of his water.

"You were right, this place is amazing." I chuckled.

"I told you!"

"Thank you for bringing me here pop star."

"No problem hun." He smiled. "So have you visited your mom lately?"

"Actually, I haven't, last time was December."

"Have the doctors told you anything about her condition?"

"No, they just said they would call me if anything changes." I shrugged and he held my hand across the table.

"She'll get through it, trust me." He said and we both smiled. The waitress came and left us our check and I grabbed the bill before he could.

"Nicole." He said and I giggled.

"Yes?" I asked and looked at the amount of money before grabbing my wallet.

"Nicole put your money away!" He tried to snatch it away, but I stopped him. "Give me the bill babe."

"Why should I?" I smirked.

"Because I'm your boyfriend and I don't want you do pay, I invited you here."

"Hm no." I put the money in the bill holder and waited for the waitress to come back.

"How much was it?"

"Don't worry about it Mendes." I smirked and the waitress came back. "Keep the change."

"Thank you, have a nice day guys." She smiled and walked away. I looked at Shawn who had a stern look on his face, making me laugh a little bit.
