"So, Cece?" Shawn finally sat down once the diner died down a bit. Shawn stepped up once Veronica left, helping me bus tables so Jacob could spend time with Aaliyah. He was a big help, seeing I couldn't really pick up things with my right hand without it stinging. There was only a couple in the corner having some dinner and Jacob and Aaliyah had gone to the park for a bit.

"What about her?" I asked before taking a sip of the tea he had given me.

"How do you know her?" He seemed intrigued.

"Well, I've been volunteering at the homeless shelter for almost two years now I think." I furrowed my eyebrows. "I met her there and we became very close, she's a sweet lady. I always tell her she could come to the diner, but this is the first time she's actually came. I just wish I could give her more." I shrugged my shoulders and he just stared at me with a soft look on his face. "What?" I let out a nervous chuckle.

"Nothing." He shook his head. "It's just, really great, I mean you're great." He stuttered.

"Thank you." I tucked a strand of hair behind me.

"I also really like what you did with the place, I mean it looks amazing." He looked around and I nodded, tracing the rim of the mug with my finger as I looked out the window to see the sun slowly going down. "You still have that same look on your face when you're thinking too hard." He let out a small laugh and I looked at him confused.

"And what look is that?" I chuckled.

"It's a pensive look, but it's as if your going through a million scenarios in your head, trying to find the perfect one." He smiled and I felt my cheeks heat up a bit. What does this boy do to me?

"How was traveling?" I changed the subject and he shifted in his seat.

"It was nice, Florida weather is great compared to how cold it is here." He shook his head.

"How come Florida?" I asked, interested on his choice of state.

"Well, I went to visit Camila and her family, but I also had to make an appearance at a club." He explained. "Other than that I wrote a bit."

"Have you been writing a lot?"

"More than usual yes, but a fourth album has to be made somehow." He let out an awkward chuckle and I did the same so he wasn't left out. "Have you listened to my albums?" He asked and I lifted my head up to look at him. not knowing what to respond. I mean, I don't want to sound like a creep, but of course I have. I even waited the night his self titled album came out. I listened to it on repeat. I just had to, I had to know. Don't get me wrong, his songs are amazing, but my least favorite to listen to is Bad Reputation. I guess the truth really does hurt.

"Actually yeah, a few of your songs actually." I nodded, clearing my throat as I saw him raise his eyebrows in awe. I want to talk about Bad Reputation, I really do, but now isn't the time. "My favorite is Fallin' All In You."

"That's one of my favorites too." He smiled and took a sip of his coffee.

"I mean, I hope so, you wrote it." I shrugged. We giggled at my remark, sitting in silence for a while, the tension slowly falling away.

"It's funny you know, we haven't seen each in other in three years and we have nothing to talk about." He sighed, letting out a snicker.

"Well what do you want to talk about?" I pushed and he simply shrugged as if there was a question he had in mind.

"Shawn, if we're going to do this, if we're going to try to talk we need to be honest with each other. We at least need to start there." I told him up front and he slowly nodded. "Just ask me, if you have anything on your mind just ask me. Trust me when I say I can take it."
