*Jim's POV*

"So Jim, you and Spock?"

"Shut up," my grin took the sting out of my words and I looked away as Carol giggled and Gary whistled.

"How on earth did you manage to snag a Vulcan?" Gary wondered and my grin faulted.

"I still don't know." My grin returned after a few moments of contemplation "I think he just found me irresistibly hot."

Carol giggled again and Gary snorted. "Seriously though, I thought Vulcans generally went for people who had a least a shred of intelligence." He joked and I pretended to glare at him.

"You're just jealous."

"Well, I guess he is pretty cute. Hey, if I swung that way I would totally do him."

My playful mood dropped and this time my glare was real. "Hey, don't even think about it." I warned.

Gary's face froze, then he lost it and started laughing hysterically. "Dude, you are so whipped!"

"I am not!" I protested weakly and Carol gazed at me in wonder. "You really love him, don't you?"

"I do," I replied quietly and Carol awwwed softly as Gary fought to control his laughter.

"Hey, here he comes now!" Carol stepped forward and whispered excitedly. I rolled my eyes, honestly she was acting like I just revealed my secret crush rather then telling her that I loved my boyfriend.

I looked in the direction of said boyfriend just in time to see the murderous look in his eyes before he grabbed my wrist and pulled me in for a kiss.

My eyebrows shot up at his actions, Spock was usually pretty uncomfortable with PDA but here he was, openly kissing me in front of other people.

I automatically responded and I felt his lips twitch up at the corners in victory.

He broke away quickly enough that it wouldn't be awkward but kept a tight grip on my hand as he inclined his head slightly in greeting to Carol and Gary.

Carol looked as shocked as I felt - although she hid it quickly. Gary simply smirked, winking at me while Spock was looking at Carol.

I mouthed 'Shut up,' to Gary before turning back to Spock, studying his face intently.

His expression was neutral as usual, but his eyes were still dark with anger. As if he felt my eyes on him he looked back at me, his face visibly softening.

I smiled and squeezed his hand as Carol coughed quietly. "Sorry guys, we've got to go, see you around" She said quickly, grabbing Gary's hand and tugging him away.

"What? Where do we have to go?"He asked in confusion and she nodded not-so-subtly to us.

"Ohhhhh," Gary's face lit up in understanding. "Yeah sorry guys, we have some super important, life or death business to attend. Have fun!" He winked exaggeratedly as Carol pulled him away and I threw him the middle finger.

"What's wrong?" I asked Spock as soon as they were out of earshot and he dropped my hand.

"Nothing, I just felt like it." His voice was frosty and he turned to walk away without another word.

I was caught completely off guard by his change in attitude and it took me a few moments to react.

"Wait, Spock!" I called as I hurried after him. He didn't slow down for me to catch up, nor did he acknowledge me when I finally did.
