Chapter 3:

Corey's Point of View:

I sat there on my bed as I thought, staring at the notebook that the councillor had given me today; at least he hadn't been quite like I'd thought.

I always expected the councillor to be rather monotonous, bored with his job and just generally uninterested. But Ashley had managed to completely flip that idea upside down; he was a lot better than I had expected. At least he seemed like he genuinely wanted to help me out with all the issues.

"Corey?" I heard from outside my door. "You in?"

I didn't bother responding and the door opened anyway. My older sister Stef looked in; she was only two years older than me, meaning that she was only eighteen. I got along with her quite well, which I was rather glad about; she had a good heart.

"Hey," she said, coming in and closing the door behind herself. "How was school?"

I shrugged; Stef was really the only one who cared and I was always happy to talk to her. I didn't have any friends when it came down to it, so it was nice to have at least one person who wanted to know about my day, seeing as my parents couldn't care less. Not like they were around twenty-four seven either.

"The usual; shit," I said in response to her question moments before.

"Whatcha got there?" Stef asked, indicating to the notebook. "I didn't know you wrote."

"I don't," I replied, making her frown; the only notebooks I usually had contained drawings of my favourite band members and anything music in general. "School councillor gave it to me; thinks it'll help if I write things down."

"So you had your first counselling session today huh?"

I shrugged, my gaze still down; made me wonder if he gave everyone a notebook. "Wasn't anything grand; just general introductions and whatnot. He seems kinda cool though."

"Only kinda cool hey?"

I sighed, finally looking at her.

"Alright; fine," I said with another sigh. "He's really cool; not quite what I expected. I mean, the guy gave me a notebook for fuck sake; what's cooler than that?"

Stef smiled in amusement, making me smile back a bit as I looked away, my focus back on the notebook. I stayed silent as I thought, trying to figure out what was going to be my first entry into the notebook. At least he'd given me a black one; it was certainly my shade.

Stef shifted her weight a slight bit.

"Ok, well I guess I'll leave you to it then," she said, making me glance at her. "Let me know if you wanna hang out any time later tonight; you know where to find me, ok Corey?"

I gave a nod and she gave me a smile before opening the door and leaving, shutting the door once she was gone.

Ashley's Point of View:

"Hey Ash; didn't think you'd be home for another hour yet," I heard Juliet call from the kitchen as I shut and locked the door, Crow appearing upon hearing it.

"Managed to finish up early," I called back as I leant down to pat Crow, hearing him purr in return.

"Well good; gotta talk to you about something. Good day?"

I shrugged as I appeared in the kitchen, Crow on my heels as Femme looked up from her position on one of the dining room chairs.

"Yeah I guess," I sighed, putting my things down as Juliet glanced over. "Had that same damn girl come in again; I swear to God, she needs to go see a professional."
