Chapter 46 - Event

"Kuya, I saw something weird earlier today." Napaangat ang ulo ko mula sa pinipirmahan kong mga papeles at tinignan ang kapatid kong si Cherry na naglalakad ngayon paupo sa harapan kong upuan.

Nandito ako ngayon sa Office ko sa Manila, I just got back here yesterday for a meeting and I will leave in the morrow for another meeting again in California. 

"You're here." Bati ko at tinabi sa gilid ng malaki kong mesa ang mga papeles upang pakinggan si Cherry, she can be overly dramatic sometimes kung hindi siya pinapansin. "I thought you're in Macau?" 

"Guess what I saw?" Hindi niya pinansin ang tanong ko at nagpatuloy lang sa sinasabi niya. "Guess it!" Medyo iritado na niyang sabi ng hindi ako magsalita.

"I don't care." Kahit sa totoo lang ay curious rin ako.

Si Megane?

Nakita niya kaya si Megane?

"Okay, fine, I'll just tell you anyways. Kuya don't be surprise huh? I am not saying that Megane's lying but----"

"Get to the point." Seryoso ko ng wika. 

Megane? So tungkol nga kay Megane ang nakita niya? 

"You told me 5 or 6 years ago----"

"That long? And you still remember what I told you?" Halata ang asar na biglang lumabas sa mukha ni Cherry dahil sa lagi kong pagputol sa kanya at kaunti na lang ay alam kong magsisigaw na siya, my sister's not really as patient as me and I knew better kaya hindi na'ko muling nagsalita. 

I just love teasing her.

"Can you not?" Iritado nitong wika at bumalik na sa kanina niyang 'kinakabahang' itsura. I wonder what's it all bout? Anong kinalaman ni Megane sa sasabihin niya?

Here I am, trying to forget her but even my sister who never even mentioned Megane just suddenly came here in my office trying to break my focus.

Honestly, I don't want to hear anything about her. 

I hope people stop reminding me 'bout her but I am curious too, I am curious about what Cherry will say.

"Okay," Huminga siya ng malalim bago muling ibinuka ang bibig niya. "I saw a little girl in the mart earlier... she looks like you, like, I'm not even kidding kuya. I'm getting goosebumps." Okay, it really is weird. Anong koneksyon ni Megane doon?  "As I said earlier, you told me 5 or 6 years ago that you got Megane pregnant but she chose to have an abortion." 

Alam ko na.

Nginisian ko si Cherry. She's impossible. She surely loves drama but poor her I'm not in the mood for drama today. Well, to be fair, I'm never in the mood for drama when it comes to Megane.

Pinutol ko siya na seryoso ang mukha. "It's impossible and you're not funny Cherry. Get out of my office now or I'll drag you out of here." Nalukot ang mukha ni Cherry.

"Wait! B-but the girl told me her mother's name is Megane and she's a model! It can't be just coincidence! I believe Megane is hiding something kuya... at least---- " Hindi na siya natuloy sa pagsasalita ng tumayo na ako at alam niyang seryoso akong hihilain ko talaga siya palabas.

Nagkusa na siyang maglakad sa may pinto pero bago siya tuluyang lumabas ay nakita ko ang sinseridad at lungkot sa mga mata niya. "Sorry if I ruined your mood big bro, I j-just thought you should know but y-you're right I might be wrong. I am wrong. This will never happened again." 

Alam kong hindi nagbibiro si Cherry at seryoso siya. Nagkakamali nga lang siya kasi hindi 'yon maaari. Ako, mismo, sarili ko ay nakausap ko 'yong Doctor na gumawa ng abortion kay Megane.
