A boy named Ezra part 17

IN KANAN'S ROOM....

Ezra woke up breathing heavily and sweating as he was gasping for air he managed to mutter"K-K-Kanan......n-no". He took a few moments trying to calm himself down. He was taking deep breaths in and deep breaths out. He started getting up from the bunk but.. Suddenly he felt sharp pain coming from his entire arm as he violently grabbed it "Stop h-hurting!"

But He didn't know Hera was passing by Kanan's cabin and heard Ezra yell. The door opened revealing the female Twi'lek. Ezra immedietly looked up at her with eyes full of fear.

"Ezra are you alright? Whats wrong?"Hera asked but the smaller boy quickly looked away and managed to mutter "N-Nothing, I-i'm fine". That was the first time Ezra felt so much guilt because of lying.

"I-I gotta go..."Ezra said and quickly moved pass Hera and started running away from her..

"Ezra!"Hera said..she sighed when he already got too far. As Ezra was running he noticed he ended up at the ramp. He  let all that stress crash on him about his nightmare again. He needed to See Kanan, NOW.

After a few minutes Ezra got into to the base, starting to head towards the med-bay quietly so no one would notice him. There was not that many people around since it was already late. Finally Ezra reached the med-bay door...but it was locked.

The smaller boy felt a spark of anger and sadness "open !" he thought . And then suddenly..the door opened. Ezra was confused but went in. But what he  didnt know is that by opening the door he just let the darkness in him slowly start to take over. It was the final drop that overfilled the cup. As Ezra walked in..he saw it. A comatosed Kanan laying on the med-bay door.

IN KANAN'S MIND...

Kanan felt someone enter the med-bay.

"E-Ezra?" he called out inside his mind but no response "Wait...n-no...something is different"

IN THE MED-BAY...

Ezra started walking towards Kanan. He was walking slowly, his mind still processing what hes seeing. Kanan was bandaged up in a face places including one part of his cheek. As Ezra was about to say something he heard the door behind him open. There stood the doctor. He was wearing a very strict and...dark look.

"This isnt a place for you young man"The doctor said

"I-If Kanan is here It IS my place"Ezra said protesting

"That is not an excuse, I'm sorry....ummm Ezra am I right?"The doctor said but a bit angrly on the''right'' part

"Yes"Ezra answered but then he felt some guilt he was rude a moment ago so he apologised "U-um sorry for being rude a few seconds ago...I-I really need to see Kanan" The smaller boy leaned his head down, looking away. The doctor smirked a bit "I'm sorry, Ezra, but you cant see Kanan right now, he is okay dont worry, I'll take care of him"

"B-But-!"Ezra started but the doctor interrupted by putting his finger on Ezra's mouth "Shhhh little one, Kanan will be okay.....so will you"The doctor said glancing at Ezra's arm where the black spot started to spread. But the doctor didnt sound like he meant any good. Ezra grabbed his arm in response and backed away a bit.

"Now Now, please go, I will report on Kanan's state as soon as possible"The doctor said and accompanied Ezra out. The boy  looked behind him while the doctor had his arm on Ezra's shoulder and forcing him to walk towards the door.

Ezra looked at Kanan, he looked so lifeless and dark. Ezra felt a tightening in his chest with the need to cry. The doctor pushed Ezra out as the door closed behind him. Now the raven haired boy was alone in the hallways but immedietly turning back at the door, staring at it with a sad expression. He felt  guilt consume him. It was the same guilt Ezra felt the moment he saw Kanan passed out after getting out of the Ghost. He thought of the moment the Ghost started floating before that mission. He was starting to blame himself more and more.

"I could have helped on that mission....if I only went with them!!, t-this wouldnt have happened......"Ezra thought

And then after just a few seconds Ezra realised exactly what he was feeling guilty about........It was because he didnt...do... anything. to. help.
