The Ghost Crew One-shots

A boy named Ezra part 8

6  DAYS LATER......

Ezra was getting better everyday. But Hera and Kanan would still check on him almost every hour. Measuring his temperature and giving painkillers.

IN THE COMMON ROOM....

Everyone except Hera and Ezra were sitting down on the couch. Ezra was in Kanan's cabin resting as Hera came in the common room from her usual Ezra check ups. Kanan looked up at Hera "How is he?". "He is okay now, sleeping"Hera repiled

"So Sabine, you said that Lothisis can pass in a week, right?"Zeb asked. "Yeah" Sabine replied. "Well then, I suppose we can leave Ezra by himself tomorrow with chop"

"What?"Hera asked turning her head towards Zeb. "What's tomorrow?"Kanan added confused

"Do you ever listen to commander sato ?, Tomorrow is the mission on the imperial base!" As soon as Kanan heard Zeb's words he remembered that Commander Sato did schedule an operation on the imperial base a few weeks back. How could they forget. "We can't leave Ezra by himself tomorrow, who knows what can happen, I guess we have to tell commander Sato that we can't tag along tomorrow and also...."Hera said "Interduce Ezra"Kanan finnished.

"Yeah, I have a feeling that this talk with Commander sato will be awkward"Sabine added clearly uneasy

"I'll go tell Ezra if he's awake" Hera went to the med-bay

"That was jus an excuse to go check up on Ezra again" Everyone thought

IN THE MED-BAY......

The door of the med-bay opened revealing Hera. The small boy was on the med-bay bed still sleeping. He looked rather relaxed and calm, she smiled at the sight. Hera came closer to him and placed her hand on Ezra's forehead, his temperature was still a little higher then normal but he was okay. Then Hera's com-link turned on, Kanan's voice was heard from it "Hey Hera, common room, Commander Sato contacted us"

"Okay, I'll be there"Hera said and started going to the exit of the med-bay. She turned around to check Ezra once again. Then left and went into the common room.

IN THE COMMON ROOM......

Hera came in pretty relaxed which gave everyone the confirmation they needed that Ezra is doing okay. As she entered she noticed a hologram of Commander Sato on the table.

"Commander Sato"Hera said respectfully as Commander Sato answered her "Hera, I heard you are not able to go on this mission, may I know the reason?"

"Well, uh..we kinda have a new crew member, and he is still sick so we have to take care of him"Hera said

"I wish you reported to me about the new crew member sooner but why do you have to take care of him, it's not like he is a kid"Commander Sato said sarcastically with a laugh as the room turned awkward and everyone gave small awkward laughs. "Well that's the thing...the new crew member is um 8 years old.."Hera said with a chuckle. "8 years old?, where did you find him?"Commander Sato asked. "On lothal, he stole Kanan's wallet and that's how they met, Kanan brought him to The Ghost and he is with us now"

" I understand completely, there is no way I would have just left a child on his own but and one more thing..What's his name?"Commander Sato asked clearly a little nervous about his own question. Maybe it was the answer he was actually afraid of

"His name is Ezra"Kanan said cheerfully. Commander Sato's face changed into complete disbelief. It was clear he was pretty shocked. The crew was confused at his reaction to the kid's name. Like Kanan said something so incredible that the Commander couldnt believe.

"Ezra? Ezra Bridger?"Commander sato quickly

"Um... we don't know his last name yet, he never told us"Hera said. "The Bridgers,  voices of hope?"Kanan asked clearly interested

"Yes, how I heard, after the child's parents were taken away, Ezra Bridger lived on the streets by himself, we werent able to locate him"Commander Sato answered "Try asking him about his last name. if he is the son of Mira and Ephraim Bridger, he might be in danger, the Empire has been looking for himfor almost 3 years now"

The crew nodded but their worry spiked up.

"I'll see you soon, Ghost crew, please report to me what you find out about the boy"Commander Sato said and the hologram turned off. The room fell silent untill Zeb spoke "Should we go ask him ?"

"We'll ask him tomorrow...his Lothisis week is coming to an end so tomorrow he should be a lot better"Hera said. The crew nodded in agreement

THE NEXT DAY.....

It was 8.00 and Kanan and Hera were waiting for the others in the common room. They werent talking about anything since concern clouded their minds. If Ezra really was the son of the voices of Hope, he is indeed in real danger.  "Did you check on Ezra?"Kanan asked Hera "Yeah, he is sleeping, he doesn't have a high temperature anymore so I guess the Lothisis is passing". 

"I hope Ezra trusts us enough to  tell us his last name especially if its "Bridger"" Kanan said softly ith a sigh. Hera smiled and said "Im sure he'll tell us"

Then the sound of the door opening was heard and the short raven haired boy entered the common room. Upon seeing him Kanan and Hera immedietly cheered up but their concern also grew. "G-Good morning!"Ezra said. "good morning Ezra, how are you feeling?"Kanan asked showing the boy space where he can sit. Ezra went up to Kanan and sat down next to him

"Better then ever"Ezra smiled. Then Sabine and Zeb came as well. 

"Hey guys"Sabine said yawning while still half asleep, Hera chuckeled "hey you two" as they sat down. "I'll go make breakfast"Hera said and went to the kitchen. After the crew was done eating breakfast everyone sat down in all seriousness and they turned their attention towards Ezra. The small boy felt a little nervous, thinking he caused some trouble. No one knew how to start the conversation so they all turned to Kanan as he nodded. He sighed  "Hey Ezra". "Y-yes?"Ezra answered. Kanan took a deep breath and decided to just spill it out. It was crucial for Ezra's safety.

"What's your full name, I mean do you have a second name or something like that?"Kanan asked changing the question in the last moment so it doesnt seem like they are just looking for his last name. Ezra fell silent for a moment. Kanan noticed it immedietly "Y-you dont have to answ-" but he was interrupted by a soft voice coming from the younger boy.

"My full name is Ezra Ephraim Bridger"
