The nurse walks back in, holding our officially adopted baby girl. "What are you gunna name her?"

I look at Gene and he mouths, "You decide."

I nod, "Melody Imogene (Gene's Last Name)."

"Adorable!" She nurse smiles. "The baby is ready to go, drive safely and good luck!"

I smile at her then Gene takes Melody. I shake my head take her from him. "You're holding her wrong! I'll hold her!"

Gene rolls his eyes and we walk out of the hospital and to the car. I buckle Melody in and sit next to her in the back.

Gene frowns, "Why aren't you up here with me babe?"

"I'm taking care of our daughter." I cross my arms.

He starts driving. Eventually, we arrive home. Gene pulls me out of the car by my wrist.

"Hey, I feel like I haven't bonded with you enough today."

"But Melody-"

"Melody will be fine. We're right here beside her." He interrupts.

"Fine.."

He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear. "Exactly what kind of bonding did you have in mind?"

"Hm.." He smirks. "Maybe something like this."

He wraps his hand around my waist and pulls me closer.

"G-Gene!"

He smirks like he didn't do anything, "What?"

I groan and kiss his cheek then I walk to the other side to get Melody out. I open the door and scream, "GENE!"

He runs over to me, "What?"

"MELODY! S-SHES GONE!"

"Don't kid around like that Y/N."

"I-I'M NOT!" Gene peeks into the door and sees her empty carseat.

"OH MY IRENE!"

"I TOLD YOU IT WASN'T A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE OUR BACKS TO HER!" I yell.

"NOW ISN'T THE TIME! WE NEED TO CALL SOMEONE!" Gene shouts back, pulling out his phone.

"WHO ARE WE GUNNA CALL?! THERES NO SERVICE!" I scream.

"UGH I SEE THAT NOW Y/N."

"WE'VE HAD HER FOR AN HOUR! HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!" I cry.

"I DON'T KNOW!" He glances at me and sees how panicked I am.

"Hey, Y/N it's gunna be okay.." He says in a forced-calm tone.

"SHE COULDN'T OF GETTING OUT OF THAT CARSEAT, SOMEONE TOOK HER."

"Shh, who would've wanted to take her Y/N?"

"I-I DON'T KNOW!!" I exclaim.

Gene wraps his arms around me as I cry. "Calm down Y/N, it was probably just one of Sasha's pranks."

I nod and cry into his chest while he rubs my back. "Shh... shh..."
