Kai's Promise

New Friend

"Sorry!!" an unfamiliar brown haired girl with a nose ring bumps into me. She kneels down and grabs her books she dropped so I laugh and help her pick them up.

We stand up and I give her back her books, "Nah it's fine" I chuckle "Are you new?" I politely ask and she gathers up her books then moves her hair from her face.

"Was it that obvious?" she sighs then laughs. "I'm Alice, Alice Rose Coover" she introduces herself and I smile. A new friend? Awesome!!! I literally have no friends here besides the guys because they scare everyone away.

"Anna Frey! Nice to meet you! What's your schedule? I can most likely help you out" I ask and she hands me over her schedule. "We have all our classes together!!" I shout in excitement then shut my mouth when I realize I'm too loud.

She laughs and smiles. "Awesome!" she holds back her excitement as well. The guys walk in the building, but completely avoid looking at me and walk pass us. Thank gosh Alice didn't see them or else I'd probably be answering a million questions about these two crazy boys.

The bells so Alice and I walk to class together.

Skip to the best part, lunch! Alice is sitting at the table the guys and I eat at so hopefully they don't have an attitude... even thought it was my fault. I was in a bad mood and said things I didn't mean.

Kai and Austin sit down in front of us, making Alice jump. "Uh Alice... this is my fiancé Kai and his best friend Austin" I introduce them and Kai glares at her, studying her movements.

Austin and Alice hold a stare at each other and looks like Kai noticed too because he's looking at me. I shrug and start eating my granola bar. "Silas won't go to sleep" I jump at Kai's unexpected words. "It look me two hours to make him fall asleep... he's absolutely terrified of his nightmares" he sighs.

"I think I know what could help him but we need to work together on it" I put out my hand and he takes it. Finally, he's coming around. He slightly tilts his head and I take a deep breath. "He wants a kitten for his birthday" I spit out.

He looks at me like I'm crazy so I squeeze onto his head, making him sigh. "Maybe" he says and I smile. I mouth I love you, and he returns it. "K stop eyeing my best friend" he looks at Alice, snapping Austin and her out of their stare.

Austin nervously rubs the back of his neck then instantly covers his forehead. Alice and I look at him in confusion which makes Kai burst out laughing. Austin groans and takes his hands off his forehead, revealing a knot. Alice and I slightly chuckle. "Kai did it yesterday by throwing his keys at me-" he begins to explain until Kai hits his arm "ok well I poured cold water on him"

"Wait, if you don't mind me asking, who's Silas?" Alice asks and Kai looks at her. "Sorry, you have don't have to tell me" she notices Kai's glare and smiles.
