Jia Xue was already waiting for Caleb in front of the gate, when he arrived to pick him up for lunch that afternoon.
"You should just wait at the facility.." Caleb said, looking around, making sure that Jason's Benz was no where near. Caleb just didn't trust that man.
That man would probably try everything, to get to Jia Xue. Jason Guang is besotted with Jia Xue. He would never be too careful.
Jia Xue saw the look on Caleb's face and sighed. He is seeing the fear on Caleb's face again.
"So, is there anything you need to tell me?" Caleb asked, immediately, after Jia Xue sat down on the passenger seat beside him.
Caleb saw Jia Xue bitting his lip, as he contemplated on what to do. Caleb watched in horror, as he saw Jia Xue seriously thinking of keeping something away from, for the first time, in their relationship and probably for the first time in Jia Xue's life.
Jia Xue, being like this, only meant one thing. That the thing that Jia Xue's contemplating on keeping as a secret, must be related to this mess between Caleb and Jason Guan.
"Don't even think about keeping something away from me, Yin Jia Xue.." Caleb warned in a cold voice, "I know you too well..You have never lied or keep things away. You don't know how. So don't start now."
Jia Xue flinched. Caleb is right. He had never thought about keeping anything away from anybody before, he never know how. But, seeing Caleb's obvious worry and discomfort where Jason Guan is concerned, Made Jia Xue just want to protect him from that feelings. Caleb really doesn't have anything to be afraid about.
But Jia Xue knew, that Caleb would never be truly secure, even though Caleb knew that for Jia Xue there can only be one, he was still afraid.
That man, Jason Guan, is making Caleb insecure. Probably because of the history between their family, so Caleb knew that Jason would try every trick in the book, to try to take Jia Xue away from Caleb.
"I met Jason Guan-"
Caleb almost hit the brake of the car right there in the middle of the road, when heard what Jia Xue had just said, "What!?!" He hissed under his breath, gripping the steering wheel tightly. Jia Xue saw the look of fear settling instantly on Caleb's face.
"We met online..In the online conference with my research group." Jia Xue quickly explained, before Caleb's fear heightened further.
He frowned, "But didn't you have your own selected group members..Those were the same group members you have had for five years, right?" Caleb questioned Jia Xue. He knew about the online conference Jia Xue often had with his researcher group.
Jia Xue had been in the group for five years, and Caleb knew each members of the group. Jason Guan was certainly not in in, the last time he checked. And yes, he checked it often.
