It was almost 10pm, when Jia Xue finally walked out from one the interrogation room, and Caleb who had been waiting outside for almost an hour stood up and walked to meet him.
He hadn't been able to do anything right for the past hour while waiting outside.
And the moment they got within arm's distance, Caleb immediately took Jia Xue into his embrace.
"You're okay..?" Caleb asked, in a ragged voice.
"I'm okay." Jia Xue could feel Caleb's body trembling. His muscles are taut with tension and emotion.
Jia Xue pulled away a little to look at him, and between the two of them, Caleb probably looked a lot worse than Jia Xue. And Jia Xue hugged Caleb tightly again.
Caleb had been sitting down and then standing up and then pacing up and down the police station waiting area, waiting for Jia Xue to finish his report.
Earlier on, he'd called his family to let them know of what had just happened.
