"Stop thinking about it.." Caleb said as he caught Jia Xue frowning, obviously still thinking about what they had just learnt.
When they arrived at the Holiday Inn Hotel, they found out that the hotel never offered a job to anybody in recent time. The last time they opened a recruitment was a year ago and it was for the housekeeping posts; they hadn't had a staff change in the kitchen, bakery and cafe for a few years.
"Something is very wrong. " Jia Xue said, looking at Caleb. Caleb knew it himself; that there's something really fishy going on.
"I know.." Caleb sighed, reaching out one hand to take Jia xue's hand in his, "but we had agreed right.? That after that lead; we're giving it to the private investigators to continue..?"
Jia Xue closed his eyes, breathing in deeply then exhaling it out slowly. Then he opened his hazel eyes, and looked at Caleb.
"Sorry..." Jia Xue smiled lovingly at Caleb.
"I'm not angry...Only, concerned.." Caleb sighed, "you'd been so wrapped up in the research recently..."
"I know..It's showing such good result, we're sure that we're about to have a break through..." Jia Xue frowned, "but after today, it seemed we'd have to redo most tests. It might take longer times than usual..."
It had been almost a year, and usually Jia Xue would have one successful research by then.
"I am not in a rush at all, love. As your boss, I'm telling you now, do as many tests if you must..take as much time as you want..don't rush..." Caleb squeezed Jia Xue's hand, "as your lover..I'm demanding an extra sweetness from you tonight..."
Jia Xue blushed, "extra sweetness?" He smiled shyly, "we have to add some sweet food then..?"
Caleb shot Jia Xue a shocked mixed with disbelieving look; was Jia Xue suggesting food play or did he really innocently took the sweetness he talked about in its literal meaning?
It's not a bad idea though, pouring honey on Jia Xue, and he would drink him up. It would be so much fun. Caleb is getting turned on by the thought of it.
"We still have honey at home, right?" Caleb asked, focusing his attention back on the road, forcefully. He's driving, for God sake, and he needed to get them both home safely to get his plan working.
It's no good, to have a hard on right now because it's a thirty minutes drive away; to their facility. It would be extremely painful for him.
"Honey?" Jia Xue blinked, "yeah..we still have a jar full of honey..why?"
Not good; Caleb is already picturing himself pouring the honey on a very naked Jia Xue. Stop it! He mentally whipped himself, stopping his imagination from running wilder.
It's legit to say that Caleb really is love starved; he's Jia Xue starved.
"Nothing. Just asking." Caleb had to lower his voice to mask his tremble.
Though, it wasn't only Jia Xue who had been busy actually. He had been very busy too. Not because of work though but because of his plan.
That's why he himself didn't really mind with Jia Xue being busy. At least with his mind on something else, he wouldn't realised that Caleb had been planning on something.
He wouldn't have let Jia Xue neglect him for two days, if he didn't have something he's planning behind Jia Xue's back.
With all these commotions around them; the still ongoing case of Jason Guan, the persistence of Zhu Li, Jia Xue's efforts in leading his team to make the research they'd been conducting a success and now, the sabotage to the very research Jia Xue thought was about to produce the desired result ; it's easy to lose track of the most important thing of all.
Their relationship. Their love for each other.
Caleb sighed. He knew that Jia Xue didn't mean to let things get above their love. And actually Caleb is confident that if Jia Xue is given the choice, between all those and him; Jia Xue would choose him.
Caleb knew Jia Xue never put anything else apart from his grandmother above his work before. Not until he meet Caleb.
It's just that, Jia Xue is the kind of person who would focus on the matter he had on his hands with 100% commitment. It doesn't mean that one thing is more important than the other; except their relationship of course.
Hence, he couldn't let things be as they are right now.
Even his mother and his sister had been pretty nosy about the state of Caleb and Jia Xue's relationship.
His sister had been urging him to take action before she had the official launching of her new jewellery line, at the end of December.

"Everything had been set up..?" Caleb was in a video call with his sister, his father and his brother in law then.
"Of course..I'd been planning for this for months." His sister shot Caleb a look of disbelief, "everything is settled. Just waiting for you to come. "
"Jia Xue didn't suspect anything?" His father asked.
"I don't think so.." Caleb shook his head, "he'd been so busy this week.."
"Wou! And you were okay with him being busy? Usually you would have thrown a tantrum..." Caryn smirked, "I invited him for tea, and was a little late to send him back home once; you almost bit my head off.."
"A little late? Please.." Caleb snorted, "you're two hours off..I had told you clearly that I want him home by 5 pm..you sent him at 7...!"
"You have him everyday, I only have him once in a while.." Caryn snorted herself.
Caleb's brother in law and father looked at each other and smiled sheepishly.
Caleb and Caryn had always bickered for various of reasons. But this is one of the most unusual of those reason.
"Rephrase your words. You don't have him. You invited him, for tea. Brother in law, tell your wife not to refer to my man so casually..." Caleb turned to his brother in law, looking for support.
"Don't drag him into this.." Caryn put herself in front of their father and her husband.
Caleb glanced at the bedroom door, where he left Jia Xue's sleeping, after their afternoon delight. It's still tightly closed.
"Well..If everything is set up already, I'm hanging up." Caleb said, and without waiting for the reply, he waved at his father and his brother in law; ignoring his sister and cut off the video call.
Then Caleb stood up, and walked back to the bedroom. He opened the door slowly, and peeked inside.
Jia Xue was still sleeping soundly. Caleb smiled as he watched the lovely man sleeping. He'd never get tired of looking at Jia Xue; his perfect lover.
And he'd never thank the heaven enough, for letting him meet Jia Xue. Meeting Jia Xue and loving him and then having Jia Xue's love in return. He couldn't have been more lucky than this.
Caleb laid down on the bed, beside Jia Xue, flipping the blanket and slipped in. Then he scooped Jia Xue into his arms.
It's only 6pm. He'd give them both an hour before he wakes Jia Xue's up, to get ready. Jia Xue stirred a little but settled back into Caleb's arms without waking up.
"I'm never going to let you go." He whispered, as he breathed in Jia Xue's scent, deeply.
