Threeweeks after the first abduction incident...
Jia Xue was glad, that Caleb seemed to finally got to his usual self back. The visit to the village seemed to be the turning point to calm Caleb down.
After the abduction, Caleb reinforced the security for their facility and added more security personnels at the front gate. That effort gave Caleb a peace of mind too, thinking that his facility would be secured and safer from then on. Caleb never wanted to experience such ordeal, ever again.
And while Caleb focused on the outer layer, in trying to ensure the safety of Jia Xue and the researcher team inside the Wang Pharmaceutical facility, Jia Xue quietly focused on things from the inside angle.
The person who had instructed the abduction wasn't likely going to try breaking into the facility again. They knew that Caleb would have upgraded everything, and it wouldn't be so easy to get in anymore. But, other than that, Jia Xue was sure that even if they had plans for another abduction they wouldn't do it here.
Ever since the sabotage, Jia Xue had been asking himself. Why him? This person had been targeting him, just like Caleb had said.
And after the abduction, Jia Xue had been actively pursuing the answers to all the questions he had been asking since the first sabotage happened.
Why? Jia Xue couldn't shake that feeling from the back of his mind. And in a hunch, Jia Xue began visiting the storage room often.
Caleb had deducted that the person who was behind Jia Xue's and Jason Guan's abduction was his aunt, and that he also came to the conclusion that his aunt had clearly targeted Jia Xue as well as Jason Guan. But, one thing Caleb still didn't realised was; the person was also targeting the facility and Caleb himself.
Whatever that person was thinking, Jia Xue knew that he might find the answer in the most obvious place possible.
He really was glad because Caleb didn't ask him about it, because Jia Xue didn't want Caleb to know of his worries. If Caleb was to catch on his thoughts, Jia Xue would have no choice but to tell Caleb everything. And it would sorry Caleb all over again. It was so hard for Caleb to finally sleep at night.
Jia Xue and his team had just finished with their daily meeting when Jia Xue looked at his team and began asking.
"You guys are okay now. ?" Jia Xue asked, especially the three youngsters who had tried to put up a fight with the abductors and got hurt pretty bad, Andy, Jin and Eron.
"We have been well, a long time ago, team leader..Don't worry..." Jin assured him confidently.
"Yes..!" Eron and Andy both simultaneously agreed with Jin, "we're quiet tough, you know...!"
"I'm glad that nobody decided to quit.." Jia Xue sighed and smiled in relief. He had that worrying thought after the incident. He was worried if some of the guys might not feel safe working here anymore. It would hurt the research and if they really leave, Jia Xue would miss them. In the past one year of working with them, Jia Xue had taken likings to all of his team members. But, if they really decided to leave Jia Xue couldn't blame them for feeling that way too.
