Jia Xue came to work the next day, and apologized to his colleagues, bowing down to each and everyone of them.
Of course, everybody didn't want to make a fuss about it, because they knew that it was the president himself who had called Mr Hwang, Jia Xue's assistant, about Jia Xue's absence for the rest of the day.
Jia Xue, is the president's lover after all, so even though he skipped work, nobody would dare to question it. Not that, it ever happened before actually. Everyone in their team, knew how committed Jia Xue is to his work as a researcher.
He never asked for a leave, he always worked extra hours; coming to work earlier than everyone else and then going home later than everyone else.
Even though he's the president's lover, he never took advantage of that privilege. In fact, knowing Jia Xue, he probably didn't even think of his position as a privilege.
So, Jia Xue skipping work yesterday, meant that something serious had happened. And it has got something to do with the president.
Maybe it's about that man, Mr. Jason Guan, the man who had come seeking for Jia Xue a few days ago. Everybody got the general idea; that their president and that Jason Guan, are rivals in love.
With Jia Xue's features, a rival or two should be expected. Though, there would not be that many people who would have the courage to have a face off with Caleb Wang. Jason Guan is probably one of the few who would and who could.
"Are you alright..? Team leader?" Jin asked, eyeing their team leader with concern.
"I'm alright.." Jia Xue smiled, nodding.
Caleb and him had reached an agreement. He would let Caleb know every time he's feeling doubtful. Keeping it bottled inside of him, is bad. Jia Xue was still surprised of how much tears he shed yesterday when he finally let his feelings out.
"So..What happened..?" Andy asked, matter of factly.
Mr Hwang looked at the younger men, giving them a dark frown, warning them not to ask too much. These young people, were too excited, they didn't know how to be tactful at all.
"I met the president's ex.." And Jia Xue because of his lack of experience to evade questions even personal ones, answered truthfully.
His team all stopped moving, and were now focused on him. Is that why, Jia Xue didn't come back to work yesterday?
"Wait..!" Liang Er frowned, making a mental assessment, "the president is having trouble with Mr. Jason Guan..And then, he brought you to meet his ex?"
Is the president a fool, or what? They thought about it, but was afraid to voice it out.
"Actually, I met his ex first..Two nights ago.." Even though Jia Xue couldn't remember what had happened, "She's his girlfriend back in University.."
