Jia Xue blinked, as he felt himself, suddenly getting suffocated with emotions; seeing Caleb on bended knee in front of him, holding out a ring. There's nothing but Jia Xue's image mirroring in his aquamarine eyes.
It's like Jia Xue's whole body had froze into stone; and his soul had left his body because he just didn't know what to do. It's like his soul is now wandering around, in confusion.
"I can't breath.." Jia Xue said, with much difficulty, because he really couldn't breath.
"What..?" Caleb want expecting that answer, he blinked up at Jia Xue,
"I can't breath...." Jia Xue had to force himself to breath with so much difficulty, it was really painful.
"Jia Xue ah.." Caleb began pleading because his own heart couldn't take it anymore, any moment now and it would explode in his chest, "don't toy with me, please. Put me out of my misery...Marry me.. Just say yes.."
And that's when Jia Xue finally able to understand what's happening.
Caleb was asking Jia Xue to marry him. And that's when Jia Xue felt something warm trickling down his cheeks from his eyes. His sight became blurry.
Jia Xue then, went down on his knees too; kneeling in front of Caleb.
"Jia Xue?" It's Caleb's turn to be confused. Again, he hadn't anticipated this act from Jia Xue.
He's proposing on bended knee; and Jia Xue should just say yes and took the ring. Instead Jia Xue went from really looking like he had lost all thinking capacity, to extreme confusion and now; to kneeling in front of him with tears streaming down from his beautiful eyes, down his smooth cheeks.
"I love you." Jia Xue was finally able to smile, amidst his tears, "Yes. I'll marry you."
Caleb didn't know just how much tension he'd been holding in, until he heard the answer he'd been waiting for. He almost lost grip of the ring, as he slumped on Jia Xue's shoulder, his body trembling so hard; even his teeth were chattering.
Jia Xue put his arms around the trembling Caleb then.
Caleb was really relieved. Was he really worried? Jia Xue thought, wonderingly. What's there for him to be afraid of? There's not even a 0.0001% possibility of Jia Xue to say no.
"Now..I can't breath..." Caleb whispered as he finally gained a little strength, pushing himself away from Jia Xue's shoulder and rested his forehead against Jia Xue's forehead. Realising that Jia Xue's tears was still running.
What in the world is he doing? Caleb was beating himself silently. This is supposed to be a romantic proposal; the most perfect one. He'd planned everything down to the very last details. He even gritted his teeth and co operated with his bossy and annoying sister to make it happen.
