"Jia Xue, ah!"
Jia Xue beamed with a happy, shy smile, hearing the woman's voice on the other side of the phone.
Caleb eyed him, frowning. If Jia Xue looked like that, it'd probably be either one of the Wang women, calling him.
They're having lunch together, at their facility home, when Jia Xue's mobile phone beeped.
"Auntie.." Jia Xue greeted, and bowed down, even though Caleb's mother couldn't see it.
Ahhh..It's Ma, Caleb thought. What does she want?
"Call me Ma...it's not fair, Jia Xue ah..you call Caleb's grandmother Gran, and then you call me auntie..?" Caleb's mother said, half joking and half serious.
Jia Xue laughed a little, his face turning red with shyness. Actually, he would still often called Caleb's grandmother with the usual 'Madam Wang' instead of Gran.
Jia Xue still hadn't gotten use to calling Caleb's grandmother and mother with those family endearments.
"Ma.."
Ahh..seriously Jia Xue is just too cute. Blushing like that, while lowering his eyes shyly. Caleb had stopped eating, and was now staring at his lover, without blinking.
Jia Xue heard Caleb's mother's approving chuckles, before she continued to speak, "Jia Xue ah..come for dinner tonight..Bring Caleb with you...it had almost been two weeks since Ma saw you.."
"Dinner..?" He looked at Caleb, "but of course Ma. We'll come for dinner tonight.."
"Good..Ma is glad to hear that..." Caleb's mother, sounded very happy, "see you tonight, Jia Xue ah..send Caleb's Ma's regard. Bye, dear..."
Jia Xue smiled, "alright Ma. Bye..see you tonight, then.."
Then he looked at Caleb again, "Ma sends her regard.."
Caleb nodded a little, "she asked us to come for dinner right..?"
Jia Xue nodded, "we hadn't visited for two weeks..though I had met your sister and Gran, a few times during lunch..I haven't seen your mother much..."
It had been a month since Caleb brought Jia Xue home to meet his family. And he'd brought Jia Xue only twice for dinner with the family since.
Though, with just the two times meeting Jia Xue, Caleb's mother was already head over heels for him. In fact, when Caleb brought Jia Xue for the first, he had already captivated the whole family, especially the Wang women.
They have a soft spot for everything beautiful and good looking; and Jia Xue is definitely that. But more than that, the Wang women have excellent eyes in identifying the intention of people, especially his Gran.
And Jia Xue is like a monk inside; he didn't have a single malice in that pure heart of his.
In this days and age. Finding a person like Jia Xue is harder than finding a bucket of gold. He's a rarity. And Caleb is so lucky because Jia Xue chose him.
