Caleb took Jia Xue, straight to his home after the lunch date with Zhu Li.
"Wait. Where are we going?" Jia Xue asked as he looked at Caleb, when he realized that the car was not taking the usual route to the Research Facility.
Caleb kept his eyes straight on the road; trying to calm himself down. He had been on the edge of his seat all along the lunch date.
Jia Xue had been keeping him at arms length all the time, ever since they stepped into the restaurant. And Caleb really hated it. He hated the feeling of being left on the outside of Jia Xue's world.
"I have to get back to work." Jia Xue looked at Caleb, in shock, he still have half a day of pain working hours.
Jia Xue didn't want to skip work; especially for personal reasons. It just doesn't sit right with him; skipping off work when his other colleagues were working their ass off.
"Your boss wouldn't mind." Caleb said sarcastically. He knew, Jia Xue's work ethics and belief.
Jia Xue frowned, noticing that Caleb is being sarcastic. Then, as Jia Xue finally looked at Caleb clearly again, he noticed that Caleb is seething with anger.
"Still..." Jia Xue didn't like it, skipping work, even though his boss is the one, telling him to skip work, "I should go to work first..Anything that you want to say, can wait until afterwards."
Caleb almost lost his cool again, hearing Jia Xue's words telling him to wait until after working hours to have their talk.
Really? His own lover, telling him to wait until he finished working before talking. And he, Caleb, is the boss?
Jia Xue is not n his right mind. Caleb could tell. And though Caleb is hurt and angry, he wouldn't lose his cool over this. He sensed that this is something he really need to address carefully.
Jia Xue has an issue. A serious issue. And it's eating him inside. And he's not telling Caleb what it was.
"This is important.. " Caleb said quietly, "It cannot wait." Work can wait. He needed to get to the bottom of this thing.
Jia Xue frowned again. He still thought that going off, during working hours, is not an appropriate conduct. And Jia Xue really But looking at Caleb's dark expression, Jia Xue refrained from saying more.
Caleb is angry. And Jia Xue knew, it has got something to do with him.
"I will call the guys.." Jia Xue took out his phone and was about to dial Mr. Hwang's number.
"I had called Mr Hwang earlier." Caleb glanced at Jia Xue. There really is something really wrong going on in that brainy brain of Jia Xue.
Jia Xue was always alert to his surrounding all this while. But, today he didn't even notice that Caleb had made a phone call to his assistant researcher, during lunch.
